So the cowboys don't deserve any credit???
Of course they do, we're no longer talking about a lack of heart or being quitters.

But who they play and how they play matters. Last season the Cowboys got schooled by the better teams and that has been a pattern for quite some time.

The Cowboys fought hard but do they really deserve some praise for that? Hell, that's what they're supposed to do. You see your team lay down and when they don't, think that's something. There is no excuse for any player not doing what he is paid to do.

What I am saying is if PIT played the games I've seen them play, this would have ended up being the game most were expecting. The Cowboys have had a talent issue all season and still do, they just don't have the effort issue right now. PIT is a better team, better coaching and better talent.

This was a welcome relief compared to those laydowns but I am not sure they've turned any corner yet. I do not know if PIT brings their A game that the Cowboys wouldn't have shut down again during the game. I need more proof.

Considering they were on the 4th QB making his first career start they played amazing. Couple that with all the injuries.

And you get one of Booger's patented moral victories.

I am not going all gaga over players finally showing up to play the game. They fought hard throughout the game but isn't that what they're supposed to do?

They deserve credit for showing up to play for 4Q's like other teams do but I've watched the Steelers play quite a bit and that was their worst game and I am not saying DAL didn't help that along but the Steelers came out flat.

I think they thought they were coming to play a rollover team starting their 4th QB in 5 games and had to assume this one was worse than the one that played the previous week. They could bring their B game and I think Tomlin realized that as well when he discovered DAL had come to play with whoever they could put behind center.

Coach, this is such a crappy season, a dismal failure, that we get carried away with a moral victory. When you had your teams, did you not expect them to play until the whistle and gun? Effort is expected.

I think the defense is starting to gel with the new system and Gilbert played much, much better than DiNucci. I'm sure Dalton will be back after the bye week and rightfully so.

I liked most of your post, except for the part where Andy gets back his job after the bye. It's gotta be GG now, methinks! o_O

Of course, if one feels we're rightfully destined to be awarded a higher draft pick, there's that to be considered, also. . . .

I'd like to see him play some more, he was fun to watch and I dig that sort of thing. Throws a nice ball too.

However, don't you think they will feel obligated to go back to Dalton when he's ready?

that might depend on who has the final say. kellen liked what he saw. pretty sure mac did as well. the jones still hold out hope they can win the east and get to the playoffs. if they believe gilbert gives us the best chance to win, they might subtly suggest that to mac and company. but imo, gilbert looked far better than andy. more accurate, more composed and much more mobile. we need that.
