Yeah I hate the 3 TE sets. Their TEs aren't even good blockers, but as you said, it invites the defense to bring 9 or 10 guys into the box. Run out of the 11 set or even. some 21.
I agree how many times this season do we have the TE guy make the play. Schultz who is supposed to be the best blocking TE on the team is horrible.

I don't like having only one Safety deep when we contained the run game. Later in the game we ran the same formation over and over and Ben R. roasted us.
It certainly wasn’t because of single high. They were beat the Cowboys on quick outs. When the Cowboys went to two deep they actually split it with JUJU for a TD. Team is handicapped in secondary with their personnel. Don’t have the players.

Nolan did a terrible job in the 4th QTR.

Ben had a busted knee too.

was anyone shocked that the defense folded?

just saying...
Some questionable officiating in that 4th quarter. He did what he could with the personnel we had. It was JUJU, Claypool, Washington, Johnson, Ebron vs Lewis, Brown, Smith, Woods and after Diggs went out not much of a chance.

You have to abandon it in the red zone because the run game has no chance with the way defenses stack against it. I mean look at the INT - you can't run into that front.

by the same token , you shouldn’t be throwing in the center, fade routes to the edge would have better chance for success or less chance for Int.

I never understood the importance of running the ball until I started reading your stuff, just FYI. Most don't.

Good stuff as usual.

The name of the game is not just score as fast as possible.. If you cannot run the ball worth a damn it makes it that much more difficult to throw it. And if you can't throw it worth a damn it's hard as hell to run it. The fact that people cannot grasp that simple aspect of football flabbergasts me. You don't have to run it for 200 yards a game.. or even have a 50/50 split. You just have to be able to do both things well enough that the defense can't sell out to stop one or the other. If you have a compromised defense you absolutely need to be able to run the ball and keep the other team off the field. As we saw in the 4th quarter.. eventually a good and experienced QB will figure out how to exploit your crappy defense. You can't just keep slingin it all over the yard and exposing your crappy defense to the other team's offense. Because unless you score a TD on every possession you're not overcoming a 36 point a game defense.

Fade routes are safe, but they're one of the least efficient plays in the NFL.

This Kellen Moore criticism keeps making me laugh. Every game it's something new. 1-2 games ago in the game thread he was trying to run the ball and people were hammering on him why we weren't throwing it more. Now, he tries calling in throwing plays and people are hammering on him for not running the ball.

Damn if he do, damn if he don't.

I didn't have a huge issue with his play calling for the most, but there's some times where it seems someone stole the headset and makes some head scratching calls. The screen to Bell comes to mind, throwing a screen to the slowest "skill" position player isn't high on my wish list. We also seemed to run too much in obvious running formations.

And I doubt all week Moore is the only one setting the offense
I guarantee you the red zone plays aren’t just put in by Moore

These are all irrelevant against negative fronts.

And these aren't even really "sweeps," in the traditional sense (I-Form, pulling guard), which I'm sure you meant. Just because there's a toss doesn't make these plays much different than misdirections or traps - which is what they really are.
