ALL game long Romo was spot on the money. He recognized our defense and the flaws that Big Ben spotted in it. He broke down Pitts defense and how to beat it. It's mind boggling how he sits in a booth next to Cowboy coaches and he's seeing stuff that they don't see or they are seeing and don't know how to offset it. Either way I would rather have my money on Romo than MM who doesn't have a clue on how to win in this league anymore!
So you expect Romo to trade in a 20-hour a week job making $18 million a year for six months work....

For a year-round gig making 1/4th of that working 80 hours a week?

You don't become as well prepared as romo for his tv gigs in 20 hours a week. But you're right about the money. No hc makes that kind of money.

Tony has seen enough of the front office to know what to steer clear of

Now - hire Romo as HC.

2 games into the new season - FIRE Romo !!!

This.

People only appreciate Romo (or any other Cowboys legend) as long as he's gone.

The moment he's back, all the grace is gone and the hate is unleashed again.

I agree, he even said we would spike it at 6 seconds (was 7). That said, no way he leaves the comfort of the booth where he works what 10 hours a week for a HC job.

while all true, you can’t put a price on a ring which you have to wonder how much he wants....that would literately be the only factor that could tilt the odds and I don’t even know that a shot at a ring means enough to bring him out.....

he has another 30 years in this gig and will easily return a billionaire at the pace he’s on, that’s generational altering family wealth

True but you also can't put a price tag on being home to watch your kids grow up or being able to go golfing whenever you want, etc.... Just my opinion, but he would be nuts to give that up.

yeah i get it, question is what is important to Romo? Only he knows that one....but its a pretty sweet gig that he has now and like i said, generational money....hes got a life most of us can only dream about...and he has earned it, so good for him

LMAO

what would romos incentive be here?

they wasted him here as a player. They will waste him as a coach

besides he makes far too much money and is far too talented as a commentator to just drop it

he’s going to be the best John madden in terms of commentating

He’s THAT good
Every man wants a pay cut and less job security lol

There is no evidence Romo CAN coach.

He would have to be insane to WANT TO coach these Cowboys.

Like force him to work as a coach?

Doesn’t work that way.

Guys have done it before. Mainly were previous coaches I believe (Dungy, Gruden, etc).
Plus, Romo has an extremely competitive personality. I could see him getting bored in a couple years wanting a new challenge.

Why would he want that job? If he loses two games in a row then he is a "bum" according to the fan base.

Going from his current gig to an OC wouldn't be a jump, it would be a fall. He's already making more money than that, and he has a lot more personal time with his family.
yeah, true, but after having made all the money he has, and being really being the best announcer in NFL, perhaps he may find his passion in coaching. I don't think he is head coaching material yet. but defintley could be a OC
