Why is the defense much better the past 2 games?

The defense has been much better the past 2 games.

It coincides with these 3 playing a high percentage of the snaps.

CB Brown
DE Gregory
LB Vander Esch

Also: Woods, Hamilton & Ankou replacing Poe's snaps on run downs. (just 1 game for Ankou)

Addition by addition. Brown, Gregory, LVE, Lee
Addition by subtraction. Poe, Griffen, Worley.

Though LVE saw his snaps drop a lot, to 55% from 94% the last game.
Meanwhile, Darian Thompson shot up to 36%, from 0% the previous two games. I think they said he was lining up at LB.
Lee up to 19%.
Jaylon dropping to 90%.

Seeing just how they rotated LBs would be interesting. I assume Thompson was taking pass downs, while Lee took run downs.

Hope they cut down on Jaylon more.

And play Thomas. He got 4%, 0% the last two games. I know his play dropped off some, but he was always pretty good as a pass defender. Though maybe they're just cutting him out because they don't have future plans for him.

Randy Gregory is the x-factor for this defense. Having LVE and Lee back is huge but Randy changes the defense completely when he’s on point.

Run/Pass DE. Quinn was just rush, Griffen was neither. Big difference to get a decent player manning RDE. Gregory up to 58% of snaps against Pitt.

So many moaned about him missing a year, and therefore likely not being NFL ready. They wuz wrong.

Should be an even bigger deal for us next year. I see Gregory getting signed next offseason and us letting go of DLaw after 2021.

Better. Yes. Not bad for 0-2.
Get or rent a clue.

Sean Lee is back. The Cowboys need to make sure they hire him as a coach when his playing days are over...

Man, it looks as if Poe really was that bad.
Poe was another POE.... ser
For the first time in a very long time at least this FO had the where with all to dismiss a few pay check collectors.
How long has this fan base been demanding to let the talent play, young talent, affordable talent, talent like Gallimore.... this shouldnt be hard to understand, but this team wastes talent.
Gallimore and Gregory actually get a shot... thanks Jerry

Jerry was really pissed off at Poe for reporting to the team so overweight. I'm curious as to what wasn't fully revealed as to that concern. Anyhow, those replacing him appeared to do quite well in his stead. It's about time this FO and their advisers make the most of our roster in 2021. It's high time for the youngsters to be given a chance to lift this team to better things in the future. Please, let it be so . . . Amen. ;)

And he should've been dismissed right then. Shows lack of simply caring.

To be honest, I don't think Jerry's problem is not caring. I feel pretty sure that his problem is caring too much. Here's a man who is a fan and is acting as his team's GM. There's your problem, right there. GMs must be cold and calculating with their players. Not so, here.

Jerry and Stephen are both far too much in love with their guys! That's not how a good FO gets to a Super Bowl. They love Dak and that's fine but he's not the type of a QB to get you to a Super Bowl. His talent just isn't at a "great" level. Sadly, that's what it takes to win a SB -- a QB that is great. Dak is good, but not great. As much as I'd like to see Dallas win another Super Bowl in my lifetime, I seriously doubt I will. I'm 79, going on 80 in March.

I expect MM to get another year, just because this FO will want to be fair and allow him an opportunity to do better in 2020. Sure, I could make excuses for MM trying to coach in an extremely poor year to do so but the fact remains that he hasn't been anywhere near impressive in 2020. Maybe next year but I'm really doubting it right now. It doesn't look good.

Certainly, it would be nice if Jerry were willing to draft the best QB he could to do that, but Jerry and son are in love with Dak far too much for that to happen. Trevor Lawrence or Fields would likely be a good idea for getting the type of QB that's capable to win the big show. Too bad but no, that won't happen. As long as this team is a family affair that is passionate for "their guys," poor decisions will often be the order of the day! Sigh...

Sorry, I meant lack of caring on Poe's part.

It was my fault for not being clear!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for doing so . . . I know it's tough on us all to see things so muddled up with our team. :(

I'll never get used to being mediocre but it's been such a long time since our last Super Bowl!!
There are actually times when I pray for another one. Maybe it's not worthy of asking God for! :muttley:

Time with the new system and removing guys that may have been causing problems in the locker room.

I don't watch this stuff close enough, but I listened to someone who said the dt's 1 gapped this game as before they were having to 2 gap. Do you watch that stuff?
