and Marcus Spears was turning this positive into a negative on espn this morning smh
when i first heard spears on tv a few years back, i was impressed and thought he had a great future in the making. but since that time he's more concerned with becoming a celebrity and has failed miserably at it. i don't like him anymore. but maybe that's what is required to work for espn.

I was half paying attention, but he said something to the effect of (and a bit sarcastically) how about channeling that energy into keeping the other team out of the end zone

Got it, makes sense with a 2-7 team to make a comment like that but still disappointing

I did not see it this morning, after 2 pages and counting, did we ever hear or figure what MS ever said about the play?

I like Woods. He is limited as a player, and I hope we can find a bigger, stronger, better NG next year, but I like the dog in him and I don't feel like he is a hole like Poe was when he is in the lineup. Good backup NG, in my opinion. Would not mind him back next year.

I kind of agree, but he is no more than a depth piece imo as a player.

Pretty sure that's why Gregory knocked the ball out his hand as well, then Claypool jumped in

If you prevent the other team from showboating without taking any penalties (it's a minor miracle Dowdle broke free for a big return and we didn't get pinned down around our own 10 or 15, like we should've been, on that one kickoff that came after we took a penalty after one of the Pittsburgh touchdowns)? I'm fine with it. But if the effort to "protect the star" includes taking penalties that will tend to screw us on the next drive, I'd rather not. Opponents shouldn't get a free shot to pin us deep on the ensuing drive just because we're sensitive snowflakes about opponents celebrating on certain patches of our turf.
