Do you as a fan want Gilbert or Dalton to start the next game?

Gilbert is my choice. The D is coming around, although the loss of Diggs hurt. It's obvious that Gilbert is someone they rally around. Let him get his reps and see if he develops into a solid QB.

That pretty much sums up the reason we haven't won anything for 20+ years. You turn and churn your roster until you find gold. Dak isn't gold he's bronze. He wants to be paid like he's gold. Don't worry Jerry will do it he has already boxed himself into a corner.

In a thread where we're talking about who starts the rest of the season you decide to take a shot at Dak? Good lord, man. You know what else you don't do? You don't let a proven franchise QB out the door because some 22 year old looks good against other 18-22 year olds and has great hair.

I hear ya.

But man, Carter threw a good lookin' ball. I ain't joking.

Oh yeah.. I can still see that rocket he threw to Antonio Bryant to win the Carolina game his second year. And how about that rainbow he hit Galloway on against the Cardinals that SHOULD have won the game only our kicking team botched the extra point and then we go on to lose the game in OT without ever seeing the ball. Campo and his crew were so frustrating. I remember the week before that game reports had come out that they had Carter and Hutchinson splitting reps 50/50 in practice. Who the hell does that to the starting QB? What was that idiot OC we had back then's name? Bruce Coslet? Coslet had a man-crush on Hutch and hated Carter. He seemed to be doing everything in his power to undermine Q and make it seem like Hutch was the answer. When they benched Carter after the Cards game they were 3-4 with a decent chance at a winning record and the playoffs. With Sir Chadwick of Fumbleton at the helm they were 2-7 and finished 5-11 for the third straight year. The good news is it got Campo and his whole cast of clowns (except Zim) canned and got Jerry to bring in the Tuna. I really think the mind games Coslet played on him contributed to Carter's relapsing into substance abuse. He was a guy who had demons.. Maybe if Parcells gets to him one year earlier and he doesn't go through the screwing by Coslet and Campo the kid gets his crap together and puts together a decent career. One thing's for sure, he was the best I've ever seen at escaping sacks. Dude was like a magician back there. There would be a whole pile up in the backfield and he would somehow sneak out the side or the back of it and come running into the open. Parcells was quoted saying that by the coaches' count he saved them something like 55 sacks in 2003. That line was just turble. (Charles Barkley style) ..

My thoughts are that GG looked better snd should start but we also put Dalton in with a lot of unhealthy people and while guys were in shock and he is my TCU guy. You give him one more shot and if he looks bad you put Gilbert in. I know tanking is in favor for some but I’d like to see a Gilbert get rest of the year of practice snaps and games and then you probably have your cheap backup to Dak

They seem to be keeping Jaylon on the field so we know he'll contribute to a loss. Diggs is out. Offensive line is still weak at 3 positions. I think we are set no matter who plays QB.

what's strange (or good?) about that is Cam Erving has actually faired pretty well filling in at LT, given the training camp and early season issues and injuries he was having such that
the team benched him in place of rookie Steele.
And speaking of Steele, I would've thought TJ Watt have 5 sacks vs him, but credit Steele, chip blocking help and Gilbert adjusting to rush pressure from that side.

- Looney is a decent vet fill in, but there are areas of his game that limit us vs Tyler Biadasz way of performance. I assume Cowboys will activate Marcus Henry
if Tyler is not ready vs Vikes, and we'll need an emergency backup behind Looney.

- Williams is gonna be decent at best, or a collapse given who he is playing against. He's a band-aid until we find better at LG.
My question will be will he ever get a shot at OT to see what he looks like as a LT. But my gut feeling says we won't see that in this 2020 reg. season.

- what I wish could happen at this point with the OTs, ..Erving at LT,..Knight at RT,.. Steele now key reserve at both OT roles.
And McGovern sharing time with Williams at LG at some point of last month December and sheer tank time.

I agree that Dinucci needs to be groomed and not thrown in to start. Especially in this situation. He's getting killed. I think Gilbert should start, but I'm not really all that against Dalton getting a shot. What does it really matter? It's his spot to lose.
Yes , dalton was not given much chance despite winning the giants game . Will be fun however to see Gilbert again . Seems like a good kid .

Dak's ok. I don't worry about letting a supposed franchise QB go if I can find a better one. Turn the roster until you find gold. Good lord man, good hair, bad hair, no hair (like you) all that matters is that you strive to get the best you can and you don't lock yourself in a box. Jones has now committed to Dak Prescott so don't worry we are locked in said box for 10 years.

I for one want Gilbert to start, it would be more interesting and fun, whether they win or lose.
With Dalton, just hard to get up for that at all. And it wont be fun to watch at all.

So just wondering if anyone else wants Gilbert to start, and did he make the game more fun and exciting to watch for you?
I cant do a poll, so maybe someone else could do that.
Who ever will make the better backup next year, I want him to start.

My vote is for Rush. He's the surest bet to lose and retain our great draft slot.

No doubt Gilbert over Dalton. He has better control of the offense. I actulayy want Dalton to go after this season. I am not a fan
of Cooper Rush. If we stay with Dak next season Gilbert would make a solid backup. If we draft a QB Gilbert would still be a
solid QB to keep.

Gilbert was heaps better than the others and he was playing the Steelers not the Jets! The bogans have already made their choice unfortunately to take him back out indefinitely. Nothing more to watch here then.

Nobody is opposed to letting a player go if they can find a better one, but finding a better one isn't as easy as some think. There is a point you have to commit to something and build and grow instead of churning constantly.

But that isn't the point of this thread. This is about who plays the rest of this season.

Well I think you really have to see what Gilbert has and if you don't play him to see what he can do over a span of 2-3 more games we won't ever know. He seemed to be un-phased and into his element. We seriously need to see how well can can do here and how well he fits.

LOL...yer kidding right? Numerous threads and countless posts. But "hey no one really wants to lose".

You just proved my point, its fans that are saying this.

Nobody at the Star is telling any of the coaches or players to lose games on purpose.
