he was pressured kid,

How do you know what plays I'm referring to? If you guessed the correct two, he wasn't at all pressured, but facts have never stopped you from saying anything at all to make yourself appear to be right, hence why I've always called you "kid".

I mean whatever it is, something's working. Is there room for improvement? Of course, but players are starting to standout that weren't earlier in the season.

Went from a historically bad defense to a bad defense. Hopefully this trend improves to an average defense by years end

Cutting some waste and getting players back helped out.

Now can we eliminate Jaylon Smith somehow. Sincerely every cowboys fan

Obviously, premature evaluation is practically as unsatisfactory as premature ejaculation.

Mike Nolan, by the look of things, hasn't had enough success as yet to put him on a pedestal.

Maybe (big if) -- IF he'll manage to guide this Dallas defense to many impressive wins, he will.

You have a low bar for "good showing".

The reality is the defense is mediocre, at best. It will likely get smoked by a good offense. Nolan will be a guy who probably, at best, builds a mediocre to average defense. And it will cost us most likely. Might even cost McCarthy his job at some point.
it not my low bar they set the low bar at rock bottom and now moved to mediocre which is marked improvement.

so give the negativity a rest, they are trying hard to improve and really this is Nolan working on 2021 now as really anything this season is finding out who will be here next year and how to use them more efficiently.

this coaching staff was handed the worst situation possible when you have team that has VITRUALLY NO OFFSEASON, MANY PLAYERS INJURED AND PLAYERS NOT LIVING UP TO EXPECATIONS AND NOW CUT..they are working with basically an entire team of backups..Its what would be compared to final preseason roster. Ill take Mediocre over rock bottom, The rest of the way..

HARD TO OVERCOME.. so ill take marked improvement even if its mediocre when we started at rock bottom.

got it ?we are as fans at point where this season, moral victories do count..normally they do not but this just went south fast and keeps coming ..the injurys list is the worst ive ever personally witnessed and keeps on coming every game we lose a starter or two..

Sorry, ruffian, but "pretty well" doesn't cut it. Not in the NFL.
it does this season in the current situation with injuries' etc it certainly does because you move the bar when you are wanting a pre-season team face NFL rosters. They are improving and as such some of us would like to be positives instead of doom and gloom , the negativity is toxic around here and sometimes you just have to see it from different angle..

8 pre-season game to evaluate schemes and talent.

Bettor put that safety helmet on the sky's falling and the world ends week 17..oh wait it does NOT..

If I remember, some fans/posters weren't sold after the Eagles game. Let's what they do against the Steelers they said, well?

I think we can throw Nolan's pink slip away.....lol

I saw Ben miss a lot of throws that he should have made. While we did get after him, I've seen Ben take hit after hit and still make throws. I tend to think he was off and not to mention his knee was bothering him. We need a few more games before we start to get out the anointing oil.

If Nolan had a history of great D then I think you could write it off as just 2020
Injuries, no camp, new system etc
The problem is he doesn’t have a history of great D

I agree. His history is checkered at best, IMO.

You like to make excuses for the franchise, I get that. But there were 12 other new DCs who also didn't have a preseason either and Nolan has largely performed the worst out of all of them.

Nolan was a poor hire and if he continues to be the DC for the next few years, it's likely we will be complaining about the defense a lot over that time frame.

I doubt your girl would agree with that first sentence.
