I agree that anyone you draft is an unknown and who knows if they will be better than Dak. They could be Leaf, Manning or someone in between.

Leaf is a bad example, if you're trying to compare the Cowboys tanking so they have a shot to draft Lawrence. Coming out of WSU, Leef had red flags regarding his character, which, unfortunately, we know the reasons now. No such concerns with Lawrence.

No matter what happens, lose games, win games, top 3 pick, pick from 5 to 12th, or win the division, lose in the 1st round, pick 19th with a 6-10 or 7-9 record.
There will complaints and whining and there will be fans saying, we finished strong, so next year we will be better.

I can't sit here and root for losses for a better draft pick, not as long as we are not eliminated from the playoffs.
And even if we are, and are playing the Eagles, and win will knock them out of the playoffs, though it means we pick 8th instead of 5th. I am wanting that win.
However I will not be upset if we did lose. nor will I be upset if we did not win another game this season.

But I will not root for losses. So....here comes the ...oh you want one and done crowd chiming in....well, heck yeah, I want to be in the playoffs. What is wrong with that. It shows the team and staff are winners, they do not give up.

Ryan Leaf had some troubling signs even in college. And Leaf was a one-year wonder in college. Trevor Lawrence is not the same as Ryan Leaf.
