Considering what Troy once said about not being able to teach accuracy, then backing him after Dak started getting more accurate, I can't agree with this. Staubach wouldn't say **** if he had a mouthful, but Troy doesn't hold back.

Troy is probably right, it's something you develop over time through practice. But I never understood that criticism. Of the things you could criticize Dak for, I never noticed an accuracy issue. That is unless you're looking for perfection, Dak's accuracy never stood out as anything noticeably bad.

He had a problem with leading his receivers for a while, to the point they almost always had to stop or even come back for the ball.

Most of the accuracy criticism was more about ball placement and anticipation. The ball generally goes exactly where Dak wants it to go.. but there was a school of though that he would not throw into tight coverage and that he didn't always lead the receivers as well as he could. These were mostly accurate analysis up until this season. He took another step as a passer this year.. He was much more willing (and able) to thread the needle and at the time he was injured Cowboys receivers were leading the NFL in yards after the catch. So he was hitting them in good position to keep on runnin after they caught it. I think Troy has seen that development and removed that criticism from his analysis of Dak. But make no mistake about it.. Troy has always maintained that Dak was good enough to win with.. The Cowboys just needed to build a good enough team to let him do it.

Really only on 1 route the crossing route
Mostly, but they often had to slow way down on go routes as well, which gave the defender time to catch up. He seems to be world's better at nearly everything now.

If those 2 old farts, one removed from the game 20-plus years and the other 45 years, told you dinucci was the IT QB for 2021, you'd believe it?
Bloke, I GUESS YOU FEEL VINDICATED?
YOU FEEL AS IF YOU SLEPT IN A HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS?
YOU FEEL LIKE THE SMARTEST GUY IN THE ROOM BASED ON THOSE 2 SHILLS HAD TO SAY?
$45 MIL FOR AN AWKWARD, AVERAGE QB WHO THROWS BEHIND RECEIVERS AND AT THEIR SHOELACES?
LISTEN TO THE EXPERTS???? LEARN TO THINK FOR YOURSELF, LAD!
Btw: The experts SAY YOU ARE CLUELESS WHEN IT COMES TO THIS AVERAGE QB WHO DEMANDS $45 MIL TO WEAR THE STAR. THINK ABOUT THAT!

Out of all the problems with the team Dak is way, way down on the list. I don't understand the hate for him.
At this point, he is taking up a huge amount of the salary cap without huge results. He has a Rolls Royce price tag for Kia results. At this point, they can’t afford to build a quality team around him with the salary cap hit that comes with him. There are plenty of reasons why some of us don’t like him, but is the most obvious at this time.

Following the link that the link quotes Staubach is quoted as saying:

"Dak is well loved by the team. I see that and I read the paper and everything, and I've talked to Dak, I have talked to him since his injury, and he can't wait to get back," Staubach said during an appearance on Good Morning Football. "I told him I separated my shoulder one year and missed most of the season, and it seems like it takes an eternity to get better again but it goes fast. Dak will come back strong. I really feel that he is not only a fine football player, but he has got the team behind him, and I think they really do miss him right now."

Just people putting a spin on quotes that were quoted from other articles. No doubt the next time we read an article using that quote, some doofus writer will headline it, "Staubach: Dak is the Cowboys path to the Super Bowl."

That's just the way the media works.

Realistically, Dak is a fine football player. And maybe he comes back strong. Doesn't mean there isn't a very fine football player that we could acquire in case the worst should come to fruition.
I miss Dak too especially since we have not won since he went down. With that being said the comment in bold is so true. I guess we will have to see what will transpire at the end of the season on this one.

It's not so much the hate for Dak it's the man love for the next Carson Wince, Trevor Lawrence that is so puzzling.
The love for Lawrence is easy to understand. He has been a top QB at every level that he has competed in. For Dallas fans, he would be much cheaper with a higher ceiling than Dak. Dak’s salary cap hit would be higher next year than the next four years of Lawrence’s cap hit.

Does anyone think either of them would say anything different? I really don't care what any ex players have to say about it because they are not experts unless they went into successful coaching.

If they ask Moose, he'll say keep him as well. Romo? Now, that would be interesting. He'd probably say the right thing but there's no way a man as competitive as Romo is over the fact they wouldn't let him even fight for his job.

There's also another side to this all of these ex players know how challenged these people are to find a decent QB. Besides that, what ex player doesn't side with any player getting tagged and injured? The NFLPA should stand firm to remove it. It's chicken ball for teams that can't manage their caps.

I hope we all agree that this team would be in much better shape with Dak behind center especially the way things are shaping up this year. But you never know with this crowd.....:lmao2:

Dalton won the very game that Dak was injured in. Of course that was before the team quit.
