Do you as a fan want Gilbert or Dalton to start the next game?

Well I think you really have to see what Gilbert has and if you don't play him to see what he can do over a span of 2-3 more games we won't ever know. He seemed to be un-phased and into his element. We seriously need to see how well can can do here and how well he fits.
You don’t seriously think Gilbert might be the answer do you? I believe to think that is just allowing the situation to cloud reality - based not on a guy truly shining, but on fans being pleasantly surprised a guy we thought would be truly terrible actually did a decent job for one game. And it was a pleasant surprise, but he wasn’t outstanding, and at best only showed potential to maybe be a worthwhile backup. And even that’s unclear because it was one game out of a 6 year career.

I for one want Gilbert to start, it would be more interesting and fun, whether they win or lose.
With Dalton, just hard to get up for that at all. And it wont be fun to watch at all.

So just wondering if anyone else wants Gilbert to start, and did he make the game more fun and exciting to watch for you?
I cant do a poll, so maybe someone else could do that.
There is going to be a surprise signing and announcement this week.

I will be starting next week

Gilbert. We know what we have in Dalton. Gilbert showed some toughness and skill, with zero expectations. Would like to see more to see what he can do.

Not entirely the answer but we haven't seen anyone with his moxie in a long time. If I were HC and I had the leeway I would really see what he has. The real answer could be in the draft but Jerry has already screwed that up we are tied to Dak for a VERY long time - so all points are pretty much moot. Still, I would see what Gilbert has.

100% Dilbert. The rest of our team is clearly allergic to redheads (see: Dalton, Rush, Garrett).

Dilbert FTW!!!

Gilbert played as good as Dak would have played against the Steelers; if you let him take a couple more games to see if the Steelers game was a fluke (or not), it might end up saving you $40M worth of cap space and then you could go draft you either Fields or Lawrence to backup Gilbert next year while you rebuild the o-line and defense. It makes too much sense for Jerry to do this but I’m giving GG 2-3 more games.

Gilbert looked like an NFL QB. Te team seemed to play with him. See what’s there.

Dalton is a known commodity.

I see your point and it’s valid, but thinking Gilbert can turn into something at this point is a reach. He may be a viable back up- but he doesn’t have the goods to replace Dak.

I’m also no where near sold on taking a QB at the top. Too many horror stories there......but then again- we have a 4thround QB asking for HOF money so....

Double-G! Dalton is shell-shocked and caters to pressure now, pretty much shutting down anything past the first read. Gil isn't beaten down and has displayed pretty good game speed and arm abililty to extend some plays and work toward the 2nd and 3rd read.

1. Start Gilbert
2. If Gil fails, bring Dalton back in.
3. If Dalton fails again, try Rush.
4. If Rush craps the bed, go back to step 1.

Dalton needs to step the hell up. He's been a long term QB1 in this league and is having to fight off QB3s right now. Pathetic.
