If Zeke gets released, I’m not supporting this team

Until Stephens successor takes over for him.
I saw online that some people think zekes getting released. If that happens, I’ll legit stop following this team after 30 years. I lost live for them and mainly dak when dez got scape hosted and released. I missed a few games. If zekes released after carrying this team to two playoff appearances and suffering behind the worst o-line in football this year and NEVER! Missing a game due to injury, I’ll support another team for the rest of stephens life.

- Once Dez lost his ability to separate - then it became imperative to release him and move on, he didn't have the in-quickness and footwork as other big possession guys
to rely upon anything else.

- Once i'm convinced that Zeke cannot ..will not regain his once elite burst and breakaway ability as he came into the league in 2016, ..
And i'm not at all convinced he cannot regain 2016 form.
i'm not close to being ready to give up on him per trade or cut. ..until we've done all we can with him.
But since he has been bulked up to be a more bigger, thicker more methodical bell cow ball control runner, he's become more ordinary as a move runner.

- I've listened all over to hear other observations as to why Zeke has lost his speed and agility. We don't even see him high hurdling defenders which all the more explains what could've happened
to him as a splash runner.

- My plan/My hope with Zeke: Get him into a off-season and re-shape his body frame to as close to 2016 form as possible Less emphasis on Bulk, More on long speed and agility.
what was Bulked Up .. can also be Un-Bulk up.

- With Zeke, i'm not gonna blame this makeshift injury rattled OL on his shortcomings. He's not just that kind of a true playmaker anymore.
That Ohio state homerun burst, acceleration and agility that jumped out on film, is what made him most feared in the NFL.

- Sure he still has a sheer power element to his game as well, and it's tremendously valuable near the goal line, ..and don't disregard what he adds his valuable blitz blocker.
But he is a one cut runner who could accelerate quickly in and out of a hole and take it to the house.

- Imo, that made him Adrien Peterson like- per his 2016 version
Both were same one cut style, same homerun style burst and speed, neither was over-elusive and both ordinary as a skilled creative receiver out of the backfield.
Zeke was always a much better blitz blocker than AP. And knock on woods, has been more super durable to date.

- If zeke had his patented 2016 burst, he'd make this ordinary, makeshift OL even better. They would not have to work that much harder, and labor and hold their blocks longer because
Elliott needs more initial time to get in and out of holes.

He wasn't electric open field elusive as an open field receiver such as McCaffrey, Kamara or Barkley but he could take a quick screen and accelerate his way to leave the pack of
tacklers behind in the dust ala Steelers ('16) and Niners game ('17) that burst and that screen plays are so obsolete now.

1) even when we had Tyron, Collins and a returned Fredrick in the starting lineup last year in , Zeke still wasn't the same home-run Zeke , but he still had the "angry' power runs to resort to.
but frankly with that new dollar amount contract. and his previous impact/presence you'd have to expect far more.

2) Kellen Moore doesn't scheme well for these RBs well. Whether per run and definitely not in the pass game.
Pollard should be Ryem Hines (Indy) Tarin Cohen(Bears or Austin Ekeler (Chargers) electric change of pace ..but in Kellen's eyes, he's Alfred Morris mold and role .
We won't see his full potential and placement until he departs in FA, I fear. I thought for sure MM would step in and help Kellen in this area.

3) With a make shift, injury rattled, inexperienced OL, it can make some difference in blocking performances, some blocking is gonna fall off, but if zeke was still speedy and Kellen could scheme
better, we could've made more happen with an OL that is just operational enough to compete.

He was given a massive pay day 2 years before he was due one. They stood by him during his DV suspension ordeal, overlooked his lifting a woman's shirt in public, and his public-drunken bufoonery at that stupid music festival. The team has already shown more loyalty than he is worth.

No player is more important than the team I support. I would never stop following a team because of a player being signed or cut.

I agree. I'm far more likely to stop supporting this team because I've completely run out of patience with Booger & Son and refuse to give them any more of the little time I have left.

I'm not there yet but I'm definitely trending in that direction.

I don't see it as a badge of honor to blindly support a couple of rich guys who couldn't care less about me, just because I liked players who retired long ago. I want real hope, not the malarkey Jerry peddles every summer.

Maybe Zeke being allowed to stifle player development like:

So far, Witten has played on 126 snaps on offense and has hauled in six receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Moreau (the 3rd TE) has been on the field for 81 snaps on offense and has caught four passes for 64 yards and one touchdown. Clearly, the sophomore tight end has been the most productive player of the two. So why are the Raiders still giving more playing time to the veteran?

Vic Tafur of the Athletic came up with an explanation for the Raiders’ decision to give more snaps to Witten. According to him, Witten was going to play regardless of his role as a leader on the team and that would come at the expense of Moreau’s and Carrier’s playing time. Moving forward, the Raiders need to consider giving Moreau more playing time. While the second-year tight end won’t regress on the bench, looking from the sideline won’t do him any favors either.

To the OP: Ok, you made your point!!! Jerry, Stephen and Mike took notice of your thread in here and they are all aghast that you would stop supporting the team. The DOW index just dropped 1147 points!

Pretty please with sugar on it, watch what YOU say or POST!

My support is for the players, not the team. Personally, if they released zeke I would jump for joy.

Me too. Loved the guy the first 3 years. But his burst has been gone since 2018. So now that he's dead weight he can't get off the team quick enough.

The Cowboys are a team so I root for the team. This isn't tennis.

Zeke is no longer a cornerstone piece of this franchise.

He, specifically, is not needed for this team to win.
Zeke is seen as a liability by many . But this is a hard pill to swallow by Jerry at this stage . He took a big gamble and paid him a guaranteed massive contract and now zeke continues his steady slide . Too late

Players come and players go, some go because they can't do it anymore, some go because the team can't pay them and for other reasons. Zeke, even if he were cranking out 2,000 yards and 25 tds a year, would eventually get too old to play, and would retire.

Quitting being a fan because a player is cut or whatever makes little sense....

Yeah, it’s not like he owes them for going above and beyond defending his suspension and giving him a good contract.
