He seems to be hanging on, for the present. We shall see what happens as time passes. He's hanging on, for now but for how long?
Yeah I hear you, but I've grown tired of the "just good enough" trend popping up regularly around here.

Another byproduct of the Jones Disease that seemingly never ends. Chris Jones isn't consistent enough and should have been gone seasons ago.

That being said, for someone to call King a "bum" is just plain ignorant. The kid is far from it, or was anyway.

"......he struggled to grasp the playbook as a rookie and wound up benched late in the season. All in all, he had 55 stops, zero interceptions, and lots of headache-inducing game tape."

"On the other hand, Baker is still young and represents a low-risk, high-reward signing for teams like the Chiefs and 49ers. He’s free to sign with any team, though NFL discipline could still be in his future."

The Chiefs, Bengals, 49ers and Jaguars are all in on Baker, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post (on Twitter). The Cowboys, he adds, “could also be in play.”

“[We] wish him the best luck in the future,” Judge said. “We’ve made the decision we think is best for the program. That is all I have to say about that.”

Chris Jones is hanging on by his fingernails at this time. I'd be surprised if a replacement isn't found in the draft or soon thereafter.

The team is evidently keeping their eyes open, right now. Finding the right one will probably be something to keep an eye on, now.

It would be in his best interest to sign elsewhere then. A suspension would follow shortly after the ink dried on his contract if he were to sign with Dallas.

Evidently, Joe Judge has some serious misgivings about his character.

Here's hoping we'll handle our dealings with Baker very judiciously.

True enough but I'm seeing several shaky things that don't bode well for a successful signing. Just saying . . .
Thats our build model Bullflop,,
Invest in troubled and injured players in order to afford to pay franchise money for troubled and inured franchise players.

Evidently, the revolving door is staying highly operational, at present.

There's no question but what we're just taking our chances, now. ;)

Whoever signs him will have his rights for 3 years.
I do not believe that is true as he was released by Giants and is now a FA, this is the classic Jerry type Defensive player, problems, failed, dumped or hurt and a possible talent steal, and the most important part of the JJ formula cheap.... no reason not to try and sign him , never know.

for reasons i do not fully understand, the giants have had problems with their backfield players in recent history. that also includes landon collins, and a cb they released who's now playing very well somewhere else. ( i don't recall his name). also had problems with jabrill peppers and eli apple recently. quien sabe?

Not news.

Every NFL team probably has "internal discussions" about signing an available player that was a 1st round draft pick. But if you attach "Dallas Cowboys" to Baker's name instead of "Jacksonville Jaguars", it becomes sports talk show fodder.

Sure, kick the tires.

But the story about his arrest is bizarre, for sure.
Yeah, I'm sure he didn't do anything. RECANT, RECANT. Nuffin. Dunbar probably didn't do anything either. Everyone was dreaming.
SAS will love this. Dalllas either signs another criminal or they didn't sign him because of, well, you know. Predictably fake.

Peppers I disagree. He’s probably the best safety in the East right now. Collins was solid as well

Stephen will make sure to sign him for a respectable deal or he probably won't be signed at all. That's one thing he'll be sure to take seriously. What I'm mainly concerned with is that he doesn't have a negative effect on the locker room. Let's see what develops first, though. He might get a looksee and be sent packing, if things don't go well. At least, we're trying to improve.
Yep. Let's see what happens.

I DO know the off the field incident was crap. He isnt some sort of thug.

I just recall fans around here were not at all happy with him getting routinely beat deep last year....but the same happens to Diggs here and there.

I would actually take a chance on him the more I think about it.

He is probably a 2nd/3rd round talent and he can be had for salary only.

It makes sense. Longshot though. I doubt he signs with Dallas.

When i hear it or read a direct quote from Jerry or Stephen I'll believe it but not from some sportswriter speculating on things. The times just this season of sportswriters speculating that the Cowboys were going to sign at least 4 players that they didn't makes me just ignore these sportswriters speculating.
