Dalton seems to be one of those QBs who always looks good when there's nobody trying to break him in half. And then turns into a completely different guy come game time and the real bullets are flying.
I can’t think of a QB that looks good when he is taking the beating that Dalton took. It doesn’t help when the team quits on a QB either.

I like how fans in the zone say Gilbert played significantly better, hows that possible,

did they both play in the same game? the circumstances were FAR and away the worst for AD..he lost Martin and then Knight , by far the worst group of OL any qb wearing the star has payed with in the last decade. Seriously

go look up who were the OL from the second qtr of the AZ game and through the Washington game? playing down what 17-0 in 5mins after two fumbles and poor defense, oh Glalup dropped an easy TD as well and didnt Lamb let ball bounce off him for big gain that tuned into a Tunrover...its was pure craapp football, so AD didnt have chance

AD didnt have the OL or the defensive effort that Nooch or Gilbert had..

you cant compare their play unless the okayed in the same game..
also other saying Dalton proved he can be close to dak hadn't had a shot at doing this as of yet because even dak didnt play with that OL group..

for some reason after AD went down , the OC changed the playcalling, the defense cut a bunch of payers and got better, and Martin Came back and Cam Erving is better then Knight..

nowhere near the same situation..

people who watch sports can see this..

I would love for Dalton to start getting really random but non threatening things, like an eye infection or something, so we can keep this QB-musical chairs thing going. It's actually one of the more interesting things this year
We've seen what we get out of this team with both Dalton and Gilbert as the starting QB. Gilbert clearly has a better rapport with the players and they play harder for him. Under his leadership, they almost beat the only unbeaten team in the league. Dalton is not going to be here next season, he is looking for his own team to start for in 2021. With Dak around, that won't be the Cowboys. So giving Gilbert the opportunity to start now gives him valuable experience and makes our team even better next season. He will be an excellent backup for Dak.

Not really, I wouldn't argue much if you suggested they put up similar performances. But Gilbert wasn't "significantly better."

The saving grace to his being significantly better than we fans expected is that our expectations were modest, to say the least.

Fair point, and I'm a fan of how Gilbert plays. I like how the team responded. I just have to admit Dalton deserves this coming start to show he can at the very least play better than Gilbert. If not, not only would I start Gilbert but I would consider him as a back up to sign for the future.

I'm kinda guessing the FO wants to fulfill their commitments to Andy.

Also, hoping that Gilbert gets a chance to be our #1 backup in 2021.

Perfect!!!

Gilbert really looked like a guy that could win us a few games. With the Oline the way it is, Gilbert is clearly the more mobile play maker.

Another bad decision by the coaching staff that will wind out working in our favor. Or maybe they are trying to tank.

Clearly they are “unintentionally” tanking. Anyone with eyes could see Gilbert could win us a few games. The offense played much better for him. They hate Dalton and it shows. It will show again Sunday.

The players have to play.

Not decide who they prefer.

This team needs to grow up.

First it was Romo.

Now it's Dak.

The players need to grow a pair.

It just shocks me to see this team as unable to do anything close to winning without a crutch.

An excuse..whether it's to win or lose.

I still think we can win the East.

It's there for the taking.

Will we?

How long will it take for Cowboys fans to start calling for Gilbert if Dalton doesn't show any improvements and the offense is still subpar with him?

I think Dalton will get the entire game. I don't think he will play bad enough to get taken out. He's better than Gilbert. And I like watching Gilbert. He reminds me of how I felt about Romo when he came to Dallas, an underdog. But Dalton has been a solid starter (not brilliant) for many years, I doubt he gets taken out.

..dont feel good about this. They will blitz Red Barron and scare him into fumbles, drops, int's...etc. We have better chance with GG. GG has heart and gusto.
:hammer:Unfortunately, the bogans who run this mess only play the highest paid player regardless of talent. Apparently, GG ain't it.

After the way he played against the NFL's best D, I'm already calling for him and have been but of course Stephen immediately said he's being benched so no one gets any ideas we'll be winning the NFCE LOL

Yikes! 17-38 204 yards 1 TD 2 picks. You know it's coming. He is what he is. Just very average. Dink and dunk. Zeke has to go off or they're toast. Barring special teams anomolies or strange turnovers there's no chance. Dalton will probably be knocked out of the game. 28-10 at best. JMO

you know catiii , what I thought was odd, was that SJ did that on monday morning , which being so quick struck me as odd.
It is like he saw fans were excited about gilbert, and so felt he had to quash that as soon as possible lol.

after that game I felt gilbert would surely get the next game ! lol boy the jones boys surprise me again lol. Either incredibly dumb, or they are tanking , but in a very disorganized
fashion, and dont even have a plan.
