Bye week before the 3 game stretch and 10 days off after it.

This is just looking for excuses, which this team (and fan base) have become adept at in recent years.

And money can't protect nurses and Army Rangers and Navy SEALs from death.
Oh, I forgot. Those three groups are paid like municipal workers and are largely anonymous...
Oh right. The unnecessary insertion of the military once again.

3 games in a 12 day span is just part of playing on Thursdays.

If you do a Sunday - Thursday - Thursday or Sunday - Sunday - Thursday its all 3 games in 12 days. Unless you are coordinating bye weeks with who plays on Thursdays it really makes no difference. I think the league needs to be very careful about scheduling Sunday night and especially Monday games for teams that will play Thursdays, but a few hours between the mid day and late game isn't the end of the world.

You couldn't be more wrong.....to the point it's fake news. Ever since they made us go Sunday-Thurs-Thurs....that has run us into the ground. There is no recovery time....and by the time you get to the 10 day break...your season is meaningless. NFL just figured out another way to screw us....so we would complain....and then the league would get their way....by taking the Thanksgiving day game away....which is what they want.

Sadly it's got to the point.....(most people don't realize)....the league is out to screw us every way possible.

This is ongoing proof of the NFL owners’ lack of concern about player safety. Playing 3 NFL games in 12 days is brutal. The whole Thurs night football thing is ridiculous. Having Thanksgiving Day games is one thing. A weekly matchup on Thurs is not putting your players- your product- in a safe environment.
They're playing one game three days early, then seven days, then ten. Saying three games in 12 days just makes it sound worse. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday is three games in 15 days...and if you go Monday, Sunday, Sunday, it's only 14.

Am I the only one who thinks this sucks? This team plays a late game on the road followed by a home game less than 4 days later.. then another game on the road 7 days hence. 3 games in a 12 day span, two on the road. I'm sorry but that is absolute garbage. Is there another team being asked to do this year in and year out? I think it absolutely has hamstrung our team in years past. If a player gets hurt on the game before the pre-Thanksgiving Sunday he's pretty much guaranteed to miss three games. I know Jerry loves being on national TV but this crap is beating the hell out of his team. Someway some how we have to get out of that damn hamster wheel. It was especially unfair the year they played the Sunday night game at the Giants then the Eagles on Thanksgiving.. They got back from NYC at like 4 am.. then had practice at like 10 or 11 that day. Wanna venture a guess how guys bodies felt during that practice?
That’s the cost of being able to watch you’re team on thanksgiving. I’ll enjoy it till they change the rules and start rotating thanksgiving games with the other teams. Yearly. I wish it stayed like this forever though.

I don’t see a problem. Every team has 3 games in a 12 day span.

Sometimes we have the game after Thanksgiving at home.

Um, guaranteed home Thursday game every year is a big advantage, not a disadvantage.

They are NFL players, finely tuned athletes, that will love collecting 3 paychecks in 12 days. Chartered jets, daily massages, catered meals, Chiropractor adjustments, cold bath, hot tubs, pain shots,IVs, HGH and the list goes on and on. They are treated like kings. Ronnie, if I am not mistaken, weren't you a world class sprinter? Imagine if you received the NFL level of care, and that level of pay. No, I don't think it sucks for them. However, it will suck for me if they subject me to subpar play. Dallas has to beat the Vikings then they have a huge advantage of play on Thanksgiving at home.

I just want the team to play with intensity and hustle. If not my blood alcohol level will be the same as a Jack Daniels' barrel.

Happy Thanksgiving Y’all

Go Dallas!!!

No I was never a world class sprinter.. I like to think might have been had I been able to get into that level of program at a young age. I was more of a 10.5 to 10.6 100 meter sprinter. But I was a later bloomer. I didn't get to be that fast until I got to my 30s. But to your point, first I don't believe they get paid on a different schedule just because the games are on a different schedule. Payroll runs on Tuesday in the NFL for most teams.. regardless. Secondly, there is no amount of pampering on Earth that will allow the human body to fully recover from an NFL football game in 3 days. Sure they can get to the point where they're okay to play.. but nobody is anywhere near full go that quickly. As a result, you are all but guaranteed to be subjected to subpar play. Hopefully the other team is just as beat up and we can at least get a win. My problem is that not only do we have to go road game, home game three days rest, then another road game on 6 days rest. I think it's too much to ask of these guys. It puts guys at greater risk of injury and there is only one team that is made to do it every stinkin year.. the Cowboys.. I suspect if you look at the Cowboys record on Thanksgiving before they started this 3 games in 11 days nonsense it was stellar. Even bad Cowboys teams generally won on Thanksgiving and then the next game after the 10 day layoff. And I suspect if you look at their record since it has been mostly abysmal. And I don't think it's a coincidence.

Cowboys on Thanksgiving is part of my childhood. It's part of football for me. I can't imagine not playing on Thanksgiving. It would change football for me. It would change Thanksgiving.

This is a product of years of complaining by the other owners about Dallas getting the Thanksgiving slot. They felt it gave the Cowboys (and Lions, but mostly the Cowboys) a competitive edge because other teams weren't used to the grind. Plus, if I remember correctly, Dallas actually used to get a home game before the Thanksgiving game. Giving us the Thursday night game after Thanksgiving was just another way to appease the jealous owners.

Before they started this thing the Cowboys did indeed get a home game before Thanksgiving then home on Thanksgiving then the 10 day break before the next game. Typically they won like 80% of those games. Never mind that they won like 80% of all their games but I digress. Oldsters like me will recall that in the early 80's the jealous owners claimed it was too big of an advantage for the Cowboys and demanded it be rotated. So for a couple of years the NFL rotated other teams in.. and the ratings went into the toilet. At the behest of the networks, the NFL came back, hat in hand to the Cowboys and put the Cowboys back on Thanksgiving with the promise never to try that crap again. When the NFL started the "everybody plays Thursday nights" crapola the teams that played on Thanksgiving were initially excluded. But that meant that NFL network, who initially was the sole owner and beneficiary of the Thursday night games, would not get to reap the ratings benefits from its most popular franchise. So it only took a couple of years before the NFL got Jerry to agree to the Thursday - Thursday schedule after Thanksgiving.. If I was Jerry, I would go to the NFL and tell them to stick it up their arses. If they want the Cowboys on a Thursday then make it opening night but we aint playin no more of this 3 games in 11 or 12 days. If every team had to do it every year it would be one thing.. But the Lions play every Thanksgiving.. you ever see them having to do this crap? It compromises my team physically and competitively. Beat up on some other team like this.. The Steelers claim they are "The World's team" let them do it.

If it comes after a late running road game where you done get back into your bed at home until the wee hours Monday it absolutely is a disadvantage. Then having to turn around and play another night game on the road a week later? It's a huge negative no matter how you slice it.
