This might be old I don’t recall seeing it on the forum so I’ll post. Interesting blip I saw on an older Albert Breer mailbag about Jaylon and his future here. Hoping it’s true.

“A well-established fact within the walls of the Cowboys’ facility: LB Jaylon Smith hasn’t played up to his contract over the last year and a half. In fact, I know people there have been alarmed how often he’s at the heart of big plays made against the Dallas defense. I believe he’s got a pretty important couple months ahead, and it wouldn’t shock me if he’s gone after the year, regardless of who’s running the defense.”

Could happen. One of the best comparison for Parsons I've seen is that he is what Jaylon would have been without the injury.

The only issue I have is that we'd have two really good LB's(assuming LVE is healthy), two or three really good Edge players, one good CB, and then subpar DT and Safety play. No matter who we draft in the 1st, we need to hit on 2 or 3 defensive starters in the upcoming draft and free agency.

Jaylon’s issue is not his injury. It’s his football IQ.

That safety issue could be solved if we could sign Justin Simmons from the Broncos. I think he was franchised this year and don’t know if he will be again. I also don’t know his asking price or how he is doing this year but he could be the answer we have been looking for.

Justin Simmons is slow for a Safety, especiallya Free Safety. He ran the 40 in the 4.6s range. No way he could cover speedier WRs deep who run faster than him.
