Have we finally learned our lessons?

Is there anyone left in Cowboys Nation that somehow believes Jerry will learn something and change after the 25th trip around the sun since the last time his team won anything?

If there is I want what they're smoking.

If you're going for good beer that will get you the most "bang for your buck", might I suggest Gulden Draak?

I know, I know: It's expensive.
But aren't all really nice things?

Give it a go. It's yummy.
Appreciate the suggestion. It used to be Sierra Nevada Torpedo for me then it was Rabbit Hole but the little craft brewery up in Justin had to close. But there's still 408BBQ in Argyle..and Joe's Pizza Matlock and I20.
I looked for some of the even finer things when you could still make the burro crossing and walk up to the little town of Boquillas when it was only safe wilderness and an old spa ruin for the wealthy from the 1920s, and the BP left you alone and you felt like you were in an old western. Now it's all built up with BP Building and who knows what became of the old spring fed pool foundations.

What lessons?

Which lessons?

Who is teaching and who is learning?

Well..

Given this season and how this team has made so many changes and have crashed and burned..

the main lesson is..

Are we going to stop putting all our eggs in one basket and pray the sky will not fall?

Are we going to populate the defense with castoffs and overpaid marquee players like Jaylon and Tank and implode our season year after year due to some injuries or cheap guys who can't play anymore?

And are we going to invest $100s of millions in guys like Dak, Zeke, Amari and Tyron Smith just to watch them not be able to carry us anymore?

Will we spread the money better and build a well rounded team that if a few guys go down we are still competitive?

Depth and fiscally sound planning instead of binge shopping and overspending?

Becuz this is again what needs to be understood.

Jerrah may or may not want to change. But change we must if we are ever going to enjoy watching this team again.

Big Mike is the leader of the band that was made for you and me.

Has he really got the juice for this?

Lessons lessons lessons.

Never too old to learn..right Jerrah boy?

Comments invited.

No lessons will be learned. Booger & Son will keep doing what they've been doing. They are rich and playing the ultimate game of fantasy football.

Another failed season? Oh well, they'll try again next year. Failure creates no real consequences for them. They won't fire themselves.

With the way this moron of an owner thinks (giving overpaid contract but drastically underachieving players full praise while diminishing those few who actually produce while refusing to pay them), along with his son, this team is going nowhere anytime soon.

You can't imagine the lessons that can be learned on ayahuasca.
It's... pretty cool.

The puking sucks though.
Reminds me of peyote.
Or shrooms, dude. Psilocybin = voodoo chili.

Becuz I have lived thru this franchise for over 40 years now.

Seen us lose and then seen Landry get a 10 year extention. End of arguements.

Seen Landry lose again and got fired and Jimster hired and our greatest teams came.

Seen Johnson leave and Switzer get hired and another SB and then the Great Endless Winter set in till today.

Now Big Mike.

Now more losing.

I do think change is coming still. I still think we could completely play differently next year and be the media darlings again.

So just wait.
I’ll not hold my breath.

So many here keep whining about the last 25 years but fail to understand a very major and pertinent fact. Jones spent absolutely no expense when he built the team of the 90's that won 3 Super Bowls but in doing so when the cap started he was forced to let players go who put dead money on the cap and from the very first year of the cap until just about 4 or 5 years ago the Cowboys were in cap hell. It started the first year having to renegotiating contracts to keep some of the stars but that put a ton of dead money on the cap. This cycle continued year after year. The Cowboys never had the cap space as the other teams because of all the dead money that was added every year ever since the cap started. When Stephen started to do most of the contract negotiations he finally put an end to renegotiating contracts and he let players demanding big contracts go in free agency and not add to the dead money. Every year the Cowboys got a little more of their cap space to use without adding more to the dead money or much less. So finally the past couple of seasons there has been much more cap space than they ever had before.

So instead of whining about the last 25 years that the Cowboys were handcuffed on the cap because of the team they built in the 90's, maybe you should confine the whining to the last 4 or 5 years, but then there are a lot of teams that haven't gone to the Super Bowl in the last 5 years.

Practically all claims concerning Dallas Cowboys boycotts are not boycotts. Boycotts are severances from an entity's products and/or services.

Most claims are expressions of disgruntlement with Jerry Jones management. There is absolutely nothing wrong being disgruntled about Jones' stranglehold on franchise leadership. However, there is a difference in meaning in regards to individuals expressing their disapproval with Jones.

Being pissed off or becoming relatively disinterested in Jones' management by not spending money is an example of disgruntlement. Again, there is nothing wrong in feeling and reacting that way.

On the other hand, being pissed off or becoming relatively disinterested in Jones' management by cutting all connection with everything Cowboys related is an expression of boycotting. No one can claim they are boycotting Jones' product if they continue watching his product. Similarly, a boycott does not exist if the consumer continues engaging with mediums OF his product, such as Dallas Cowboys fan sites.

Boycotting is the right of the consumer to express their displeasure with the seller but it is not a practice conducted by piecemeal. It is total effort. No one can truthfully claim they are "boycotting" while, at the exact same time, having their cake and eating it too.

Too bad I can’t find any stores in Seattle that have it in stock. That stuff sounds like it’s right up my alley.

Only lesson Ive learned is to not take stock in posts like this from far too many fans being emotional and getting invested in players and how much money they make or what the owners say or dont say, and judging players as busts before they have a chance to develop.so thats 80% of this forum LOL

Every team whos actually trying to build team overpays 4-5 players they feel are the CORE..the ones that are not are cheap owners who wont risk the bottom line and consistently just cut or trade their best player and not signing big FAS and just draft starters every 4 years, rinse, repeat..

there arent lessons to be learned around here, about simply risk reward type deal..many mistakes are made with investments in the real world but when you hit on few , well it makes it worth while..

now stop focusing on money and watch sports for what they were meant for a distraction and entertainment, best reality's TV out there..

we are NOT Owners, GMs, Capologist , or have any true experience on running a major sports franchise..just be a fan chill out RELAX

I guess that's why I ask the question.

The only way it changes is if Jerrah has something happens that forces a reduction of his involvement with the team.

Like an illness or something worst which I am not wanting..but positive charge due to a change at the top would move the needle..

As much as some think Stephen would be like his father..I have no real evidence of that at all. So it has to work itself out.

I have to assume Jerrah's trusts and his will instructs how things would go if he is no longer around.

For all we know..Stephen takes over..Will Clay becomes GM and more changes go into motion. Mike McCarthy may even by included. Maybe he becomes GM.

Who knows?

So all I know is as fans we will wait and see and talk.

And talk

And talk.

It's what we do best.

It's Al Davis V2.0.

It's going to make an interesting autobiography and TV series one day.
