The Cowboys are held back by (bleep) poor leadership

Here’s my opinion- The biggest problem the Dallas Cowboys have as an on field product trying to win football games is Jerry Jones and his kids. I think most of us would agree on that. But if we as fans just act like there’s nothing we can do, Jerry will remain the biggest problem we have. Stop buying jerseys and tickets. I’m not asking for a billboard or a fan movement. I’m just saying one fan at a time. I haven’t bought anything Cowboys related in over a decade. I’m doing my part.

It's been well over a decade since I've purchased anything Cowboy-related.

I refuse to give my money to an organization that is so poorly run. I don't think Jerry is a bad man, in fact I think he's probably a good person. He just shouldn't be running a football team. And repeating what most others have said on here, it won't get better when his son takes over.

I hope Jerry lives to 100, because in the end this is just a game. But I don't expect the Cowboys to be successful anytime soon. I hope I'm proven wrong...

I presume nobody is holding a gun to your head to keep you watching them or come here and whine about them. Using your own assessment Jones owns the team and he isn't going anywhere any time soon and according to you he is totally responsible for not winning a Super Bowl since 1995, and since nothing here on the CZ will ever change anything, why waste your time here and watching the Cowboys? There are shows I really hate and I don't watch them or go looking for some website to complain about those shows getting the wrong actors and writers and the wrong ideas.

For every person here that stops buying any Cowboys stuff there are new fans someplace that is. If every user on this site did as you say that total number would still be so inconsequential compared the the millions of Cowboys fans world wide that Jones wouldn't even miss it. I get it that each can decide to do what they want, but to think that it somehow Jones is going to take notice of this seriously isn't realistic.

We appear to have let go the one guy who helped steer our Bozos in the Sky Box in a better direction despite the disappointments and frustrations.

Even if Jerry is a pathetic turd, we as fans can still discuss the intricacies of improvement without actually seeing them improve! We all know why they won’t, but it still gives us something to talk about!

That’s exactly what Jerry wants everyone to think. Look all I can control is me. I can boycott buying jerseys and tix and have been for over a decade. Makes me feel good. That’s all I worry about. I have power over what happens with my money and I choose not spend it on the Cowboys as long as Jerry runs them. I have that power, knowing full well everyone else makes their own decisions.

Again if not buying anything Cowboys makes you feel good, that's fine. We are all free to spend our money as we see fit. With the very tiny fraction of the millions of Cowboys fans around the world that chose to do what you do, Jones is completely and totally unaware of that and has less than zero affect on any decisions he makes. Saying that your boycott of Cowboys things will never work doesn't guarantee it won't work, it only points out that very tiny fraction of fans doesn't phase what the Cowboys do in any way. I haven't bought a new jersey in 6 or 7 years and if I still lived in the Metroplex I have a friend who's father has a luxury box and he used to give me a ticket to watch the games and if he would give me a ticket again, I'd go and watch the game. I have made a purchase of Cowboys stuff in the last 3 years and that is a set of 5 Super Bowl rings that came in a wooden box with a glass top.

Most here are hoping the brain trust gets better or luckier but that is about the best any of us can hope for under these circumstances, which are not changing. And luckier is a hell of a lot more likely.

There are levels of acceptance as to our condition as well as levels of denial, including stating that the son has taken over in the face of hard evidence with look who's still talking. And I don't get that. Wouldn't it make more sense to think he isn't in charge, at all, to offer some hope for the future?

We get pissed off posters when the subject of the Joneses comes up and it's not in defense of them but they're trying to look past that and post here like the Cowboys are like any other NFL team. Some posters here really need that, apply the knowns about the game to this team with no regard to ownership.

Jake, I know you're frustrated but this gives them power in your life. They don't care what we say just as long as we're talking about them.

The healthiest way I've found to approach this is with sense of humor intact and out front and complete acceptance of the facts. Fact 1, it is owned by incompetents because they choose to run it themselves. Fact 2, this is not changing even when the old man goes toes up. And Fact 3, they're not important enough for us to argue with each other about them.

I've told y'all this before but it bears repeating. The only way I could remain a fan of the Dallas Cowboys was to avoid exposure to the owner. The only information I get is on this site from my fellow posters hell bent to make this the Joneses Cowboys because they bring every asinine and inane thig these tools say to the media. However, they are often doing that out of incredulity at what one of them as spouted off about so there is that as well.

Folks, we are all in this together and there are plenty of things to argue about without giving these two people any power here. They're just not worth arguing about.

And Jake, I can relate. I was a Booger detractor way back on the old site, when it wasn't cool to do so, when they were saying "Booger is not a good GM but the best owner and wanted to win more than any other owner". And I never got one response to the question "what's the primary and most important job of the owner"?

We're all in this "Cowboys Groundhog Day" together but I do understand that some do not like to be reminded of that all the time.

Agreed OP. They'll pass up great talent just to take some chump who fits their mold. IE Taco.

FREE Of the Joneses? the Joneses are the Dallas Cowboys , theres no separating them, they own the team, and now they've owned the team longer then the original ownership group.. you cant separate them for your narrative to work, they may hand this down to Stephen, then the sisters, then the offspring..

so constant complaining on how its run when its been this way since 1989 and will continue 10-20years longer..useless time water to keep pointing out how fans wish it to be,, want to run things better ? come up with 2-5billion, enough credit to actually get an offer in , and buy your won franchise then run it how you see fit..

The Jones's earned this team, they borrowed and risked all their previous wealth and leveraged their business's to buy this team and bring out out of the brink of Bankruptcy, won 3 Sbs, and now its #1 in value and still one of the most recognized franchises in the world..its not Living off the old regime , they made it their own.. dont say Jimmy because without Jerry theres No Jimmy they were friends, teammates, and jerry went to Jimmy, not the other way around..

we maybe in dry spell but the Dallas Cowboys and the Jonses are one in the same..By remaining a fan all these years of the DC and the Star , you are supporting the Jones's regardless if you try and sperate them..

Lol, I would like to see you have the ability to change them, I'm sure you could get creative.

I'm aware it's the default, my point was just because someone has ole Rowdy doesn't mean they do not know Cowboy's football. There are many, many people on here that understand some of the nuances on the game better than I do, and I happily admit that.

And I'm sure you get troll accounts you have to deal with. It's just seeing the Rowdy comments so many times over the years gives me a chuckle, as if a pic of Jethro Pugh magically gives you more football knowledge.

I get that. All I’m saying is I have the personal power of choice with my sports dollar as we all do. I don’t give a rat’s behind whether Jerry notices that or not. The power of choice is underrated.
