Martin makes the line calls. That alone is impactful, never mind his skills as a position player. Anybody who doesn't think that he impacts the play of the OL on a play by play basis is not paying attention.

No Biadsz does. As does Looney. Two years ago it was Martin

The only game Zach didn’t play in is the one Dalton started.

What was our lineup for that game?

LT UDFA backup
LG Three-year starter
C Rookie fourth-rounder
RG Third-round backup who missed all of last season
RT Rookie UDFA backup

Can't remember if Cam Irving was back for that game, but either way, that's not pretty. I give the OL coach credit for keeping Dalton from being killed before halftime.

While he was out, that may be but there is tape, from this year, that clearly shows that Martin was calling the line calls prior to his injury. It was even discussed but whatever.

Zach Martin has a diary. It's called the Guinness Book of World Records.

-add zeke fumbling and killing 2 drives in the first half,
-Gallup dropping an easy t.d. pass,
-and I think it was the first drive after half time that the refs didn't call PI on the lamb tackle that killed the drive,
-and then the PI call against the cowboys the next drive

Andy still threw for around 250 with 1 t.d.

Funny because you can clearly see Biadsz making the calls from his first snaps. Announcers were even commenting on how he and Looney were both calling the exact same stuff simultaneously

I don't know what to tell you. If you want to die on that hill, that's fine with me. I'm just saying that Martin was clearly making the calls in the Huddle, which would make sense seeing as Biadsz is a rookie with only 4 starts and Looney missing time as well. The point is that Martin is clearly vital to the success of the OLs performance or are you going to contest that as well?

Martin was a RT at Notre Dame.

Becuz Free was still starting at RT Martin moved inside to G.

But I always thought Martin would be better at RT.

If we can get C back with Badass and figure out who plays G and what happens with Smith..

then Martin is needed for the run game on the right side.

We have to get Zeke out on the edge to let him run instead of b/w the tackles. That is making Zeke worn down.

Zach makes the OL calls? Makes sense with turmoil at QB and center this season.

The line became elite when martin was drafted. Tyron was good. Frederick was good, but Martin elevated the whole line:

I know that he was at some point but I don't know what the situations is now. I mean, he missed time and we pretty much had no starters starting so at some point, one of these others had to make calls. You would like the Center to do that and as time goes on, I'm sure that's how it will be.
