The absurd calls for half the team to be cut and fired after every game is amazing.

Did I agree with the 4th and 1 pass? Not using that long of a route.

Did I agree with the fake punt? No but it was open if Wilson does his job and throws it.

In his defense I think McCarthy knew the defense was on its last legs as evidenced by the run D the last 10 mins of the game and was trying to steal momentum.

Washington was the better team once the 2 tackles went out and then the CBs playing were guys no ones heard of. Burton and Robinson started one of the series. Then when Robinson was down it was just find 11 guys to line up.

The games are much more entertaining this year. You can’t say you know what plays coming anymore which is what everyone complained about last year. How many on here said “if we’re going to lose at least go down swinging and trying something new?”

If McCarthy had even a reasonably healthy team I think these aggressive calls will work out.

Most of us wanted the team to lose anyway because seeing no logical way they make a run in the playoffs, it’s best to get the best draft pick.

Just let the process work out for at least another year. If they’re 8-8 or worse again next year then yes McCarthy is probably gone. It doesn’t seem like he’s a good fit with the high spotlight all the time, but he deserves a chance to go through a normal year with players knowing the schemes.

If you were a new stock broker and in 7 of your first 10 months you report a loss because the industry you specialize in is down across the board, should you be fired or given a chance to figure out how to work within the system to prevent these things from happening in the future?

For all of our jobs, we want to be given time to get the kinks out especially when things happen beyond our control. Why not allow it for football teams also?

It was poorly called and poorly executed at times. Injuries have taken their toll on the team and they are facing superior talent in the trenches every week. It’s an uphill battle, and you need to look for small victories until the games are played and we can regroup in the offseason.

Almost anyone here would be better than Jerry Jones As GM if only because they would actually go out and get best coach available. Meat head Mike was bottom of the barrel and Jerry got him so he would not be upstaged .

The bonus attribute of Hennessy is not only does it taste good, it's subtle psychotropic quality makes you think you are bulletproof, like Superman, and all your ideas are Tiffany cufflinks.
No because i would have never fired jimmy johnson and actually would have done anything it took for him to stay. Same with parcells. And if they left I would have paid for the best coaching staff money could buy.

Gee, ya think on the Jimmy front?

Parcells was more reputation than chutzpah. Parcells was doing essentially what Landry did and live off his success as the game was moving past him. Parcells had a knock to exit town before his great experiment sunk with epic proportions, like the Alamo, or the last season of Happy days.

The rest of your reply is a rehash of so many threads that fall under the 20/20 hindsight column of fan utterances.

Sorry Hennessy, but your battleplan that sounds so logical lacks any authenticity. We are fans who know the answer right after the play/series/quarter/half/game/season fails.

Any random person guessing at GM could have probably made the NFC championship once in 25 years. Someone get Stephen Hawking on the phone to check my math.

We wouldn’t be able to field a team if most of the people on this board were the GM. We’d be in cap hell because players would be cut/traded without regard to the salary cap and every good JAG we had would be cut because they weren’t super stars. Then these same fans believe they are smarter than Jerry.

You’re fighting injuries and you have to fight your own coaching staff on top of it. Just way too many ridiculous decisions. If your coach doesn’t know how to play field position and situational football, you just aren’t winning anything. They were still in the game on 4th and 10. Then they gave it away?????? It’s one thing to take gambles it’s another to do it repeatedly and still suck at it. Time to stick to the fundamentals because you suck there too.

How dumb do you have to be to think Bill Parcells left the league like Tom Landry?

One turned around possibly the worst team in football in 4 short years while tied to a hands on, incompetent front office. From perennial 5-11 to playoff contender. Then he walked away.

The other drove his team into the dirt to the tune of having the 1st pick in the draft. Then he was fired.

But other than that....

MM body of work plain sucks up to this point as the Cowboy's HC, go back to GB not so good either his last two years. It took two HOF QBs to cover his warts and dallas doesn't have one of these this year or next year or the next few years after. At this point I believe the Rodgers quotes about him are true as reported. Doesn't matter the infallible GM will keep Dumbo around a few more years because he is so great. Ever wonder why no one called this great coach when he was let go, maybe because of what you see weekly.

There's a dozen or so posters on here who could do a much better job than the current mess of a GM.

That's definitely true. We were also reminded of what Dalton looks like when the team doesn't rush for 180 yards. We had games earlier this season with the same two tackles, and no running game, yet scored a lot more than 16 points. Dalton was watching from the sideline.
