Dak seems to be the only person that kept this team and crappy staff competitive.
People on here talk about finding another QB like they are easy to find...half the league has terrible starting QBs that the same posters would be wanting to get rid of now.
Eagles used a top pick and now lead the league in TOs. NYGs used a high pick and he’s a INT machine. Unless you can get Lawrence, I don’t think there are many sure things at QB in the draft.

Dak is a better QB than Andy Dalton, but paying 40 million for someone like Dak is absolutely ridiculous and I don't understand. Good guy, but he doesn't push the needle. Even if dak is the answer, he's NEVER winning anything with jerry.

Sign a QB in draft. Trade dak to NE for picks. Or at least dont pay him 40 million. 28 million TOPS

Dak who?

35 million, going rate. If anything, this season should solidify that need.

Some Cowboys fans honestly believe that Trevor Lawerence alone or some other top QB prospect is going to help solve all of the issues that this team has. If the Cowboys are going to trade Dak then they better make sure that the pick turns out to be someone like Mahomes and not someone who will regress and fade away like Wentz.

Knowing the Cowboys fans base, they would be furious with the front office if Dak got traded away and had major success on another team, while the QB that they traded him for in the draft either was a "bust", not how he was hyped up to be, or if he was good but still did nothing to solve the problems with this time and still couldn't get the Cowboys to the next level due to the problems on this team.

In the case of someone like Lawerence actually being what he is hyped up to be, then I wonder how fans would feel about paying him when it comes around the time for that to happen, especially if the Cowboys still haven't made a Superbowl appearance with him as the QB.

All of you Dak haters are some of the most ignorant and misinformed posters around here. Very sad. Get your facts straight and know what you are talking about before you post. Please. Sheesh.

Until we get a real GM, we're probably not going anywhere. Many think it's just as easy as drafting a QB.
This is one of your dumbest posts, and thats saying A LOT!

If a top QB draft pick ends up being a bust for the Cowboys there will be those who will still try to find a way to blame Dak somehow. Just like they are doing after Dalton turns out not to be the savior of this team that Dak critics and some Cowboys fans hyped him up to be. There will be threads about how the team is losing on and struggling intentionally because they are fans of Dak and don't want the top QB pick to succeed.

Do you realize that since 2000, the success rate of QBs taken in the first round is roughly 35%?

We will see what happens in the off season.

I really do think the cowboys front office will try to get a deal done with Dak.

If Dak is willing to sign a flexible enough deal then he will be back long term.

If they can’t get a deal done. Hello first round QB.

I Honestly don’t know which way it’s gonna go.

I just know that in my opinion, it better not be “let’s let Dak walk” and then “let’s sign this retread QB and not draft one with our first pick”

I either want Dak. Or I want a top 5 pick at QB.

where is this $40M figure come from? I thought it was $35...no 40, next week 45 and by christmas its 65!!!

and the difference is right in front of your face......41-16....in other games he played with this same personnel, we scored 30+....he is the one that gave us a chance to at least be in the game. not be over by halftime.

and good luck finding a 28M QB in FA that can take you to the superbowl...when you do, drop me a line....

One thing that worries me about dak, is that he has slow starts to games, but has strong 3rd and 4th quarters. I had this discussion in another thread, and a guy called me on saying that, Then he looked up the stats.

2019 average:

1st quarter 4.2
2nd quarter 8.2

It is an average, so that means there are 0's in there.

Then you look at this year and he started slow, and had strong 3rd and 4ths.

I am wondering if the slow starts come from:
1.playcalling
2.execution
3.he needs rb's to wear down the defense and open up the field
past few years play calling was atricious...Linehan...OMG, TV announcers were making fun of him every game....predictable offense.....and last year he had to deal with a rookie OC, with all of 2 total years of NFL coaching experience.....what would you expect....and MM is turning into a pumpkin right in front of our eyes. I can't remember a worse coaching game in my life of watching the cowboys...its like he was handing the game to washington on purpose

It always amazes me how some fans act like it's their checkbook.
it amazes me that people STRONGLY defend Dak like he's their player. I think we can agree that we should be looking for a game changer at all positions, including QB.

you should only pay 40 million for qbs who push the needle. like mahomes. dak isnt worth 40 million. 28 a year is fair. i wouldnt go higher
find me a top 10 QB that would take 28M....

what you want is totally irrelevant. its what the NFL does.....

I want a ferrari for the price of a honda civic and I am not having it!!!! right now. that's what I am willing to pay. go get me one

The only tricky thing about trading Dak is that he's a UFA after this season. The only way to to trade him is to tag him again ... and it's not gonna be cheap. I think $36 mil.
