Fake punt was a solid call

I was skeptical of the McCarthy hire and he's done nothing to change my mind. Some folks were so giddy to see anyone but Garrett that they didn't consider the possibility that Jerry would actually hire someone worse.

Don't tell me about his SB ring. A lot of coaches could've won with Aaron Rodgers that season. That the team got worse after that - even with Rodgers - speaks volumes about McCarthy. What they've done since he left slams the door.

yup....I'm done w/ McCarthy. I don't trust this staff. I LOL yesterday when Aikman was saying Nolan was a good coach. For a guy that does nothing but watch football...how the hell can you not see he's trash?

Wash isn’t really better than us, most of the point discrepancy in both games has been from coaching competencies they have that we don’t. And also, Dalton is terrible.

Reportedly, it was stated that the the team hadn't been able to practice during the week for that game and it showed. I thought that was a pretty accurate way to describe an awfully poor effort to perform that particular play.

I'm hopeful that the games to come represent them far better, although, the extremely dire circumstances surrounding that poor showing was somewhat understandable. Hopefully, the games yet to come will be better suited to represent them.

Everything that might have gone wrong, yesterday, actually did. I thought there were way too many horrible play calls and decisions that went awry. Actually, it was far from Kellen Moore's and Mike McCarthy's most redeeming performance, to say the least.

Next up, the Baltimore Ravens, at their place. May our fortunes be kinder for that one. ;)

he has a week to get healthy. He won’t miss his one chance to throw a perfect game
RG3 anxious to put up numbers now......no problem. This team always helps an opposing player get a Player of the Week award.

I don’t mind the call but it looked like they drew it up right before they ran it. Did they even practice that play? Like, ever?

I had occasion to witness that abomination of a football game last night with my 60-year-old son. Yes, we're both up in age, despite being surprisingly spry!! He mercifully described the Cowboys team that we, somehow, felt compelled to witness as "snake-bit." Just thought I'd share that with my buddies here, as kind of a sympathetic way to endure it.

Here's hoping we'll find better fortunes vs. the Ravens next Thursday, if they're fortunate enough to overcome their unfortunate rash of sickness that has invaded their team. Win or lose, let's just say we'll likely win, one way or another. It may well take until April to reap the full benefits of a possible loss, although, a "win" would eventually be realized in draft positioning. Let's just look at it as a "win-win" proposition. Of course a legit win would also offer a kind respite from losing! Either might be easily seen as kismet for you, the optimist. ;)

Ppl hated Garrett for not going for it enough and complain when McCarthy does. Their play calling sucked at every turn yesterday.

It’s been reiterated and regurgitated enough the entire staff should know. You’re paying the 4th overall pick, $90 million dollars.

On 3rd and 1 you run it. If they stop you cool.

On 4th and 1 you run it again. If they stop you twice, they deserve the ball back.

Double reverse to the smallest guy on the offense? Pass on 4th and 1 on a curl? At least run a drag.

The coaching staff is being incompetent. It’s like at times they want to be a power offense and then change it at the worst time. Then after the pick on their 4, we decide we want to get super creative and overthink.

This team isn’t snake-bit.

We literally grab the snake, demand and force it to bite us even when it’s unwilling to do so. :)

He's 100% correct. We are the Murphy's law of the NFL. Jones should keep the roof closed; I wouldn't be a bit surprised if God himself started throwing darts. I would be like: "Oh yeah, well, it is 2020."

I think he was supposed to throw that pass and he did have a guy wide open down the field. He should have thrown it and I have no idea why he didn't. But it is still a low percentage play and too big of a risk to take down 4 points. They are taking too many risks like that and teams are not surprised.

I prefer a coach who play field position and does not give away momentum. 4th down stops are probably one of the biggest momentum shifters in a game.

It was perfectly played by Moreland. Our gunner didn’t sell the fake at all and he immediately crashed in. Had Moreland bailed the play likely not picking up the first would’ve looked more competent than it did. Moreland read the fake the entire time. That’s good coaching to have them aware of the fake

That was my impression, as well. It seemed as though they couldn't have called a worse game if they tried. If I didn't know better, I might be inclined to wonder if that was actually the case. Unfortunately, I'd have to imagine it's unlikely, since MM likely wants to justify his presence as justification for actually deserving his trusted hiring. Nevertheless, I'd love to be a fly on the wall of Jerry's yacht to hear his side of it. :D

as much as i want someone fired for this and really a reboot on the staff in which was NOT my stance before this game, i was giving the entire team and coaches a mulligan given the historic amounts of Injuries' even in the game the OL was a mash unit..

I want a head to roll, but reality sets in 24hrs later and i know Jerry not lettings anyone go in one year and given just getting back our OL and Dak plus a few off season moves draft and FA, we will easily be 10-6 just by trotting out our starters for most of 16 game sin 2021..

I'm angry, pissed, disappointed, shocked after this play call and ending to this game which was minds boggling, didnt seem real and all the above we are all feeling..

But know the Jones's they will stand pat give all a mulligan and this team will be at worst 10-6 next year..its obvious it will be flip not unlike 2015/2016 ..

I know like the years we called for Garett's head and yet the next year was always a bounce back when we thought all was lost..i see a huge turnaround..

doesnt mean i still dont wish for jerry or MM to come out Monday and fire someone i mean the statement it was solid call is coverup but with some thought and time passes, he and jerry have to realize that has to be answered for it was not smart, it was stupid the world , the least knowledgeable football fan on earth could see the fake punt was dumb(exception Rockport , but hes on some good good mood drugs lol), add to it the 43rd and 1 4th and inches both bad calls, you run zeke or pollard and if 4th and inches come QB Sneak..

like i said my gut tells me regardless of all this , we easily back to 10-6..
