I was one of those who wanted Urban Meyer as the HC after JG was let go

I 100% wanted Meyer. I know ppl say our record wouldnt be better and im ok with that. But the team has looked absolutely terrible at times. Like embarrassing jets football

sort of like the team under a decade of Jason a Garrett. Not going to fix all that was left behind in a single season. Especially one where there has been no training camp.

You might be surprised. Jerry isn't in-love with this HC like he was the previous guy. Jerry went this way because it seemingly mirrored the situation in GB when the won a SB (in Jerry's mind)
And that should tell you everything you need to know about Jerry’s views on Coaches. He thinks that if he mimics the scenarios that it’s going to lead to a SB with no consideration as to the variables - chief among them being that Dak Prescott is nowhere close to Aaron Rodgers when it comes to QB play.

He might of said no to Jerrah .

Ole Jerrah is a heck of a salesman, not great at GM .

He's not that good of a salesman..he just found some oil when he was younger. He talks a lot, he's arrogant but he's not good.

Big time choker

I honestly think we probably got the best coach for the job we can get if we are being realistic. Just look at our head coaching carousel......Barry Switzer to Chan Gailey to Dave Campo to Parcells to Wade Phillips to Jason Garrett..........why on earth would Urban Meyer even come here?

I'm sure there are at least 10,000,000 reasons why he would come here. Annually.

Should have fired Garrett right after season and hired Rhule. Jerry dragging his feet on Garrett was yet another huge Jerry screw up.

That may sound so cliché-ish, especially now with the 3-8 record.

But Urban wasn't just the latest "hot commodity" college football head coach. Wherever he's been, his teams have been (1) fundamentally sound in all 3 phases -- offense, defense, and yes, special teams. (2) His defenses in particular have been stout.

The dude not only knows how to coach; he knows how to coach today's game.

Now we're going to be heading into another off-season when, again, I'm going to be saying the same thing. I highly doubt he would run a true RPO 100% in the NFL, but I can tell you this: his defensive staff, and his coaching staff in general for that matter, would be better than we've got out there right now.
I was pounding the table for him.

Yeah but last I saw Cowboys aren't the only ones who can give him 10,000,000 reasons why.........you guys take this approach that everyone would love to come here....why the hell would he not stay in college?

Meyer is great, but he wouldn't win with all these injuries either. Look at that OL that had to play yesterday. We haven't seen this since 2002 when Campo's group was literally signing guys off the street and playing them that weekend.

So you wanted to go in with the expectation of being smashed and embarrassed every week?

I wanted Meyer last year and I wanted Gruden 10 friggin years ago. I honestly think it boils down to working with Jerry. McCarthy, not a huge fan at this point, but that devil on his shoulder isn't helping. Wouldn't have helped Meyer or Gruden either! Just one endless sad state of affairs with him in charge. I used to think a coach can change that.

Rhule would never have come to Dallas to work in this banana republic. He signed on to work in a better situation to build an operation with far less pressure and exposure. And is making more money in the process.

Urban Meyer would have had stepped down due to "health concerns" as soon as Dak got injured and pretty much at this point with the best players on the OL hurt.

....why isn't Urban Meyer coaching in the NFL.....if he is who you think he is?
Maybe he don’t want the hassle. He definitely has plenty of money, so why upset a comfortable life?
