Does Lamb have that elite level talent

I couldn't do catch either myself :lmao2:

Maybe I'm just being harsh and salty towards Lamb after the drop yesterday but I just remember thinking I couldn't believe Beckham had managed to catch the ball and still be in bounds.
Yeah, it was extremely impressive, which is why it'll be a long time before they stop showing it whenever we play against OBJ.

True.

My worry with Lamb is if he's all about the highlight reel.
Do you mean "Is he thinking only about making the highlight reel?", or do you mean, "Is he only gonna be good for the highlight reel, and drop a lot of easy passes?"

Good questions. I suppose both. His talent is off the scale but there have been many receivers who continually dropped easy catches throughout their careers. I'm probably being way too harsh but I don't understand how someone can make the difficult catches that he has done yet dropped some absolute dollys.

Bit different though isn't it. How many years has Jones proven his worth?

The second dropped catch he had been suffering with hamstring issues and shouldn't have even played. I will cut him some slack as he was seemingly thinking about his injury whilst running and dropped his concentration and the ball. From memory he didn't play much after the drop and his hamstring issues have continued this season.

Conversely Lamb just had to catch the ball from a well set position on both occasions. He wasn't running 40 yards.

lol.

If I’m comparing him to Dez Bryant as a rookie, he seems more polished but clearly doesn’t possess the raw ability and ceiling that Dez had.

Lamb seems like he’ll be a better route runner and may prove to be the more reliable receiver over time, but he’s not going to terrify secondaries like Dez did if you leave him in single coverage. Just my opinion.

Dez just had a different level of big play ability and explosiveness to his game. Not that it’s a knock on Lamb as a receiver, I think Dez had more raw ability than 99% of receivers in the league.

Agreed but he's already a better route runner. I wish Dez had worked on his craft instead of relying on his raw ability.

Ceedee seems to be a great kid. Doesn't seem to pout or mentally check out like Dez could at times.

Gallup is often the same way. He makes some incredibly acrobatic catches, then drops some easy ones. I think it's just a matter of being forced to concentrate when the catch is more difficult.

Hopefully, it has a lot to do with the lack of continuity at QB, and once they get a steady diet of Dak (assuming he's the QB next season) they get more consistent.

The catch last week was obviously one of the best we’ve ever seen and he deserves props for that.

However, aside from that catch, how many jaw dropping/OMG plays have we seen him make this year?

He’s not really a huge leaper like Dez. He’s not a blazing WR like some others. His hands aren’t special based on all the drops.

He has top level agility which helps him on Punt Returns and get open in the slot. But even though he’s put up great numbers and can be a #1 WR on a team, I have been a little disappointed by the lack of highlight reel type plays from him.

If he were a #1 and not much else around him, like when Cooper came in 2018, would he dominate?

Dude did you watch the abbreviated training camp videos of Lamb?...i mean the dude drops one pass yesterday and gets thrown to the wolves..i think it is most unreasonable...Lamb is a straight up receiver stud and will only get better as

he also gets stronger....he is already a nuance route runner and will only get better...hey i am not condemning your view...i am almost hateful toward the McCarthey coaching people...he makes me almost long for Garrett....but i am sure

Jerry will keep him a few years and we will watch him screw up plays and adjustments and positioning the players....tell me how in the heck could his DC Nolan even entertain an idea of installing a brand new complicated defense

without any real practice time???...that is sheer stupidity on the lowest level in my book and McCarthey signed off on it so to me his is a DUFUS ....but Jerry will probably keep both coaches way too long because of his pride and not

wanting to appear Wrong....when our cowboys lose like they do i get so so so angry and want others to hurt too....so i realize i am the one when the dust settles is a DUFUS for not getting a life...but it is what it is

Yes that's a good point about guys concentrating and being more focused to execute the difficult catches.
