I don't know if harbaugh just caught lightning in a bottle twice at Stanford and also in San Francisco. But I am starting to think that is the case. Because he has brought in some decent talent from a recruiting standpoint but just has not had that translate to results on the field

In a lot of ways the wolverines are a perfect complement to my Cowboys fandom. Tons of annual preseason hype, followed by quick, decisive, and crippling destruction of any hope that we might have had for a fleeting moment

Year after year, lather rinse repeat

JH is an awful lot like Jerry Jones. Master promoter with very little actual substance to back up the hype.

TBH I'm almost numb to it anymore. I expect it.

Sorry

Dude absolutely no need to apologize

Your team played well. Congrats on the win

I said you'd score 40. I was 2 points off....

You were close. I'm really happy for the win. IU is never going to be a powerhouse football program but for several years now I think they've been raising their profile (my opinion that is thanks to Hoeppner). I'd be happy if they can consistently be a team that doesn't struggle to get that 6th win every year.

A one loss Clemson team likely makes the playoff over any other one loss team.
Of course....maybe even vs a half schedule undefeated team

Especially given the 1 loss was
  • Without all world QB (though the back is very good)
  • On the road
  • Without 3 of their best defenders
  • In overtime vs a top 5 team

My Hoosiers start the Big10 season 4-0! Woo! Heading in to a huge game next weekend with Ohio State where they will emerge 4-1!

I'm going to have watch them versus Ohio State.
Love when someone, anyone upsets the apple cart.

How long before Jim Harbaugh gets fired?

I've been wanting him fired since 2017. Been clear for a while that he's not the guy we thought we hired. Most just didn't want to admit it because he's a "Michigan Man" and apparently up here that matters more than actually doing your job well

I'll be honest with you, I'm a lifelong fan and am alum as well. I've never been so disgusted with Michigan football in my life. Even under Rich Rod

At least his teams played hard. 2020 Wolverines have mailed it in pretty much all season. How in the hell Harbaugh is still cashing checks from the UofM athletic dept is a complete mystery to me. He's been a colossal failure relative to what he's getting paid

Well, my Hoosiers came up short as I figured but made the game exciting.

How does Jim Harbaugh keep his job. He needs to be fired and never heard from again...

The answer to your first question is, he's a "Michigan Man". In the delusional world of the overwhelming majority of narcissistic University of Michigan alumni and fans, that is the only qualification required to have the full backing of the athletic department and the school. At this point it's crystal clear to me that the University of Michigan would rather lose big with one of "their" guys, then break the mold and actually change with the times of college football

It's pathetic but I promise you it's true. Now that said, this season is really putting a strain on that unbreakable "Michigan" bond. I honestly believe that a totally humiliating beat down at the hands of Ohio State, which I fully expect will happen, could spell the end of this 6 year mistake

As a long-suffering Wolverine fan and alum who has seen the painful truth about harbaugh since roughly 2017, I can only hope this is the case

This has dragged on long enough

Well my Hoosiers have lost their QB for the season. I like the guy, pretty good QB but I'm pretty sure he's gone down to injury three years in a row now.

Pretty sure Texas is firing Herman and hiring Urban Meyer.
Only caveat there is USC is likely canning it's staff and may also look at Meyer.
Someone is gonna give him Saban money that's for sure.
