I guess no one watches The Crown. Season 4 just started. Very good look into the Royal family. Some dream of being royalty. It's a rough life. No freedoms to do what you want, marry who want, go where you want... etc.. none of that. It's sad. Plus no real family bonds, just a loyalty to the crown. Money doesn't buy happiness. These people for the most part are miserable.

I watched the first 3 seasons. I really enjoy historical views of the the British crown going back to the 1100s. I loved The Crown seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 was okay, but changing actresses to play Queen Elizabeth was a mistake I think. I am looking forward to season 4.

Operation Christmas Drop.
Uggg
Not really a guy movie.
One of those sappy holiday movies that you would find on the halmark channel.

However part of it is based on a true story.

Kind of funny seeing Bjorn Ironside from vikings playing one of the lead roles as a clean cut all american Pilot.

I liked the first cast and I loved Margaret, but this Queen and the rest are doing a good job. I get why they did it since they're covering almost 100 years after it's all said and done. Makes sense to get the age appropriate actors as time passes instead of spending hours in makeup. After season 4 there will be another cast for the final 2 seasons.

I did not have HBO in 2004 never watched Deadwood. So there are 3 seasons and then a movie to complete the series? I must be one of the few people that has never watched the series. Anyway going to give it a go later tonight :)

I missed it too, but borrowed the DVDs from the library a couple years ago. I watched the whole thing but it was one of my lesser favorite series. Hated Timothy Olyphant's acting in it. I'm not sure if I watched the movie or not. I actually don't think I knew about it.

The biggest deal with it was the language that the writer defended saying he had proof they talked just like that, proof he never brought forth. Historians said he was full of it.

I liked it in the beginning but I think it started to fail and became more about getting the language worked in and I didn't finish the movie, boring as hell.

One thing for sure, the writer of "Deadwood" would have kept the mods on point here.

I watched a few episodes last night. I like the actress playing the queen these last two seasons. She was in another series I liked called Broadchurch, I think. All the other actors are pretty good too, except Jillian Anderson's portrayal of Margaret Thatcher is just awful. It is totally overacted. It is detracting from an otherwise very good series. From what I am reading people who did not like Thatcher, like this portrayal. I can understand why. They are making her look like a boob and a misfit. But Thatcher was as brilliant as she was tough. She was what England needed because they were on a path to financial ruin.

I'm actually surprised cause Lithgow was great and I liked the last prime minister. I thought Anderson would be good as Thatcher. The kid playing Charles does a great job and I like what I've seen from Diana so far cause that's a tough sell. Just interesting to see the inner workings of the monarchy.

I caught "The Impossible" on Nflix and this was outstanding. I didn't realize when it was made, 2012, as it had a young Tom Holland in it and one of the best acting jobs I've ever seen a youngster deliver.

It's the true, and remarkable, story of a family of 5 from Australia vacationing when that Tsunami hit Thailand. It had some of those involuntary physical reactions to some scenes equal to the mountain scene in "Lone Survivor".

The New Mutants is a new movie. It's being panned, currently has an imdb rating of 5.3, lower than even Dark Phoenix's 5.8.

Stars: Maizie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt, Henry Zaga

Talked about in a different thread when it came out before.

Ghost of War is now on Netflix.

Horror story and military story. I like this niche genre.

Has a twist and the ending could be better but overall I liked it.
