The NFL is overwhelmed with injury issues this season.

Proof that low intensity off-seasons are bad for everyone...players, coaches & fans.

They really need to get back to old school off-season rules for practicing.

Even before Covid the rules for the past decade have made injuries worse not better.

You’re right. The league has focused on all the wrong things to prevent injuries. Changing rules and improving equipment only do so much when teams aren’t in game shape due to restrictive practice regulations.

Since 2000 or a little before there has always been some kind of BS excuse with this franchise. A lot of other franchises are similar I guess but it sucks being one of them.

Don't know that you got it right. Just taking in the NFC East, look at the most prominent, not getting your leg broken or knee rolled up on stuff. Tyron Smith screws his neck up in practice. La'el Collins ends up needing hip surgery, never having dropped a rep since January. Lane Johnson had to end his season because his ankle collapsed.

Lack of off season? Yeah.

I think there's something to the lightened offseason, but I don't think it's a season-long thing. You might be able to say some early season injuries can be attributed to lesser workload in the offseason, but at some point players get enough reps to be as ready to play as needed.

Maybe it takes an extra 4-6 weeks to get into prime shape, but beyond that it's hard to point to a light offseason.

Bet they have, but they won't be making those public.

All the information needed to study it is public. Beyond that, I doubt they've actually conducted a study. The new CBA is already agreed upon and won't expire for a decade. By the time the data would be beneficial to anyone, you could easily see a reversal in what looks like an increasing injury trend.

Someone is probably recording data, but I doubt they've even started to analyze it.

My two cents...
I think there may be something to the OPs hypothesis, especially this year, with limited team directed offseason workouts, but I think there is a more direct cause.
Athletes today are bigger, faster, and stronger than they have been in the past, therefore the forces applied against bone and ligament are just that much greater than in the past.
I remember people in the early 80s thinking that Randy White was a freak because he benched 475. Less than 15 years later Larry Allen was flirting with 700. Remember when the Fridge and Nate Newton were freaks because they were over 300? Now, an Olineman that is not at least 300 is the freak.

Athletes getting bigger, stronger, faster is a long term trend. It likely contributes to increasing injuries, but wouldn't cause a spike this year.

Yes, part of my point is that the NFL needs to how the players that the CBA rules are causing increased injuries.
This season might be different because of no offseason, but ever since they started limiting contact in practices years ago, injuries increased.
