Yeah. I'm not sure what people expect him to say. GMs defend their decisions and also try not to overly offend their players. I'm sure he expected better play from both, especially with the fumbling problem Elliott has had, but this also has been an unusual season where it is difficult to get a clear evaluation.
If everything was clicking on defense except Smith or if our offense was intact and Elliott was playing poorly, then he probably still would defend the deals, but be looking to move on.
