Yeah. I'm not sure what people expect him to say. GMs defend their decisions and also try not to overly offend their players. I'm sure he expected better play from both, especially with the fumbling problem Elliott has had, but this also has been an unusual season where it is difficult to get a clear evaluation.

If everything was clicking on defense except Smith or if our offense was intact and Elliott was playing poorly, then he probably still would defend the deals, but be looking to move on.

You are totally correct. There are rumors about the Cowboys moving on from Jaylon in the offseason. There are probably people in the building that want him gone. I have not heard any rumors about Zeke yet. Skip Bayless tried to start the rumors yesterday saying the Cowboys should ask Zeke to take a pay cut. We shall see.

bahahahhahahahah..... so you think Jerry's profits off jersey sales fluctuates a ton from year to year? Do you actually think Jerry has to spend 1 sec of his day worried about how he will make more money?Jerry Makes more money in the time he gets into bed, sleeps, and gets out of bed the next day than you or I make in a year.

I find it hilarious when any of you talk about money and Jerry. He doesnt need to do anything. The Cowboys are like a machine that prints money. If he was so cheap and worried about money, he wouldnt have built The Star.

I am surprised anyone takes anything Jerry says seriously. One the guy is blinded by hubris. He never thinks he is wrong. Two he is a senile fool. Three he like the swooshing and the feed me crap because that sell merchandise. Four this is a 3-8 football team on a 25 year run of futility. He is the GM for this dog sheet show. Five Stephen is waiting in the wings so fan nihilism rules.

I mean he’s never going to admit a mistake. For crying out loud he didn’t even really “fire” Garrett. He just let his contract expire.

When does Jerry ever publicly criticize his players or admit to a mistake lol? Why people hang on every interview word like it’s the full truth is so weird to me. Will never understand why people keep putting all their eggs into Jerry’s interview basket.

Jerry is a true salesman. He is not going to dilute the value of his own franchise nor players. The reality is very different, Jerry paid Jaylon and Zeke as elite players they haven't lived up to their end of the bargain.

In this same interview, he stated he agreed with the fake punt call because “they were getting gashed in the running game, vertically.”

Jaylon is part of the problem when you’re getting gashed.

The Geezer sees what we all see, but he will never publicly admit fault or speak bad about his players.

Bob Sturm did a long article on Zeke with the conclusion of cutting Zeke. Its comical because there are two choices.

A) Jerry gives the Bull Durham non-answers and fans grumble.

B) Jerry says they will cut players and the national headlines are that Jerry is throwing the players under the bus in the middle of the season.

Either way, fan reaction is the same:
