Everyone seems to think that Jerrah keeps Corky for year two no matter how bad things get because he doesn't want to admit he made a huge mistake. But looking back at the exit of The Clapping Carrot, please remember that Jerrah NEVER had any press conference to explain or answer questions involving not extending his contract....Corky just showed up for an interview, and the next thing you know he was the new HC. There were no negative articles written or media questions about 10 long wasted years....Jerrah's fears over being ripped for making a mistake with The Clapping Carrot really never came to fruition. All that being said, we all know that Corky was a huge mistake....if Jerrah was to let him go after the season, I would have a hell of a lot more respect for him in admitting a bad hire, then keeping this conman around for another 1,2,3 years.

It all depends on how embarrassing we lose. How obvious the coaching mistakes are..
At some point you look dumber by not making a change

COVID doesn't excuse horrible in game coaching decisions....nor does it excuse supposedly losing the locker room this soon into your coaching tenure. Urban Meyer coaches somewhere next season....Jerrah needs to right his wrong before he is gone....he should be counting his blessings that he is even still available.

McCarthy will finish his contract. Jerry may force other hires on him, but he's not going anywhere.

Theres a saying along the lines of how the very best salespeople are very easily sold.

They want to believe.

Jerry is the best salesman I've seen.

Connect the rest of the dots.

if Jerry worried about looking dumber he would have hired a GM decades back

There are a million reasons/excuses for this season. Jerry is not going to fire McCarthy after this one season. No chance.

At least take the 4th down call away from him. His analytics analysis makes a labrador look like a genius.

So if he's not making crunch time decisions or running the offense like he did in GB, why is he here????????

I pretty much agree about Mickey or Corky as you like to call him.

Butterball also comes to mind but that is just because I'm going on my 5 th open face turkey sandwich as I post this.

That aside let's shorten Big Mike to BB for Butterball and proceed.

Yes BB is turning into a very needie coach as this season goes on.

Our expectations are artificially too high. Always have been. And I truly believe BB has lots of reasons to get things straightened out.

And becuz he has done it before he does know what it takes.

It's said a team takes on the personality of its coach if they succeed. BB has shown us he likes surprise football calls. The one where Dak caught a TD right before his injury is an example.

The failed ST plays vs Washington is the other side of his coin as were the 4th down calls. We have to wait and see if this continues or not. We also have to see if we gets better at execution which so far looks High Schoolish.

So Jerrah is not going to admit anything about his decisions that do not work. Professional business men do not fall on their swords.

They diffuse and massage and move in another direction and do not return to the failures.

So do not hold your breathe.

If McCarthy had any pride he would go to Jerry and demand he take over play-calling from Kellen Moore-or-Less. Then Jerry should tell him, fine, but you have to fire Nolan. Then we get rid of both major obstacles to success and maybe luck our way into a couple of decent Coordinators.

If they both don't agree that Fassel has to go then there is no hope.

No, what was a mistake was taking #21 over Henry. Yuuuuuge.
No, the correct pick was DeForest Buckner in the 1st, Henry in the 2nd. I value RB's highly, and even I wouldn't take one w/ the 4th overall pick unless he was the next coming.

Anyone else notice the ironic "if" instead of "it" in the title of a thread about mistakes, lol...
