I didn't realize JG was head coach of the Giants.

The Giants are top-12 in scoring defense and they're 4-7. Why? JG's offense is 30th in ppg.

I will continue to say this because I believe the numbers over the years support it. Garrett is not a bad offensive coordinator, he's just a limited one. What he's limited by is his philosophy. Because he believes it's all about execution (my man beating your man) instead of creativity, he brings down the level that the offense can reach. That's why we ultimately needed to replace him in that role, because his focus was getting the offense to a level he was unable to take it while not focusing on the defense.

Without a good defense, his offense was always going to come up short, which is why he didn't experience playoff success. His coaching limitations made it necessary to move on. In New York, he has a better chance of having a great defense that can complement the offense, if the Giants are able to build one like Garrett had in Dallas. I'm not sure they can do that, and Garrett is actually showing a little more creativity because he doesn't have the talent there to back his philosophy. With the Giants' lack of talent on offense, though, he can't even get it to a decent level at the moment.

In other words, there are some offensive coordinators who can put together an elite offense. Garrett isn't one of them, but he can put together a good enough offense ... as long as the defense is good.

Without RB Saquan Barkley.........And their starting QB (hurt today)

Let that sink in....

What is our excuse?

Answer...it's poor coaching. Still ticked off we laid on egg on Thanksgiving. McCarthy has to go....
This thread is confusing. There were whispers of them wanting to let go of garrett with his ol coach.

Hes not the head coach and his offense is bad.

But we are terrible so lets applaud anyone thats not here.

Garrett is NOT the Head Coach.
He's the OC

Their offense is ranked 30th in the league in both total offense and scoring,
truly awful.
Even worse than Dallas’

OMG. Really. You went there......COME ON MAN. Garrett wants to win the division at 6-10 and draft at #19 Lose by winning it’s the Garrett way Oh yeah, they played the Bengals. Without joe burrow. Can’t believe you went there

They just barely beat the Joe Burrow-less Bengals.

They’re 4-7 in what is literally the worst division I’ve ever seen.

I’m not convinced McCarthy is any good, but I’ve seen 12 years of Red’s fingerprints on this team. I know he’s not the answer at HC. I actually would have liked him at GM though.

Garrett may be a good example of the Peter Principle. It's his first year as Giants OC, lost Barkley early, no the offense ins't that good but again, it's his first year, usually takes a while to get the players all in on your system.

In any case he's not the head coach, the post isn't comparing apples to apples...

The NFCE is a trainwreck and the Cowboys were swept by one of those teams, a team that has only one 1 of 4 out of the division.
Yes so all the teams are bad. Saying the Giants "manage to find a way to win" is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous since the Cowboys beat the Giants when they played this season. And then to credit Garrett as OC for it when the Giants have one of the worst offenses in the league is ludicrous.

What on earth should he be doing with a Daniel Jones led offense without Saquon?
Carrot Top should be doing better than coordinating the 30th ranked offense. He never has been able to overcome injuries.

Carrot Tops player’s are expected to consistently win one on one matchups, they are seldom but in position to make plays, by Carrot Top!!!

So they have the worst talent in the league but are suppose to be ranked higher than 30th? Interesting....
