Hey, speaking of contracts - who has a bigger cap hit next year? Zeke or Henry?

Or over the next three years?

Anyone?

Answer:

2021 - Zeke is 13.7MM and Henry is 13.5MM

For the two years following Zeke's Cap Hit is 31.5MM and Henry's is 30.5.

So a difference of 1.2 Million over the next three years.

When Zeke signed his extension they had both been in the league three years. Henry had 2,665 yards of total offense and Zeke had 5,247 even after missing half a season with Goodell's BS suspension.

Twice the production in 17% fewer games is part of the pay disparity.
ee always got more carries than any other rb till last year and then this one he has way less carries.
Murray was the # 1 back for henrys first 2 years, he was like pollard to EE.
Murray retired and henry took over as # 1 but still didnt get the carries ee did.
Then vrabel started giving him more carries, and walla!

You guys do realize that literally 30 other teams NOT in Dallas passed on Henry too, right?

Get over it already, my God. Admire the guys talent for sure, he's fantastic. But yall piss and **** yourselves about this more than my 10-day old daughter.

But how many other teams took Ezekiel Elliott number four, and then gave him a cap-busting contract?

This thread is an insult to Henry. It is like comparing a real full grown man to a little baby.

Can one of you photoshop guys make a Venn Diagram of the people who said "The Cowboys are idiots to pay Zeke" along with a circle of the people who said in 2015 "The Cowboys were idiots to let DeMarco Murray leave in free agency"?

Oh wait, its just one circle for both groups. No need for the diagram.

There were a lot of fans who didn't want to pay Murray, didn't want to draft Zeke at 4 and didn't want to pay Zeke a new contract. It's actually a very sizeable group.

Zeke has 7987 of offense in five years even with a BS six game suspension.

Henry has 5576.

But by all means let the Hateraide continue.

You do realize that Derrick Henry split carries his first 2 years in 2016 and 2017.

That said, let's compare Henry vs. Zeke the last 3 years:

Derrick Henry 2018-2020

42 Games 774 Carries 3,856 Yards 4.98 YPC 40 TD's Longest Run 99 Yards 5 Fumbles

Zeke Elliott 2018-2020

42 Games 786 Carries 3,498 Yards 4.45 YPC 23 TD's Longest Run 41 Yards 14 Fumbles

So the bottom line is Henry in the last 3 years as a full-time running back is much better than Zeke and is being paid less money.

Zeke is pure crap. The guy is a POS There is no comparison. Only Jerry still thinks he’s better than Henry at this point. Elliott can’t be gone soon enough!

If Zeke is as elite as you suggest, and worthy the upper level money we paid him, he shouldn't need a QB, OL, WRs and a defense to make him really, really good. You are literally making the case for why it was not wise to pay him.

So what you are saying is that our overpriced RB is useless without an offensive line. Which then begs the question why do we need an overpriced RB, wouldn’t that money be better spent on the offensive line? Asking for a friend.

Sounds like different coaching made all the difference.
What if Vrabel was already there bout the time Henry was drafted ?
Dunno if Coach V would have totally sold the starting role to rookie Henry but maybe Derrick would have been more
incorporated into share reps.

But remember how Alvin Kamara was gradually incorporated behind Mark Ingram
before his touches increased more and more ?.

I still tend to believe why Henry wasn't drafted higher, despite great production at Bama and astounding size/speed ratio was because
he was thought of as a straight-liner with not much elusiveness, not a heralded pass catcher, and there was a worry factor over
Bama RB trend..
Could some of the draft guru's have thought Henry to be another Trent Richardson ?

This is just fundamentally flawed. There's enough factual evidence out there to criticize Elliott without suggesting a RB shouldn't need a team to support him. And you can hold your breath getting your way on his contract amount.

This O line is ranked 28th overall, 29th in rushing. The Titans are 14th. Dallas doesn't have any of the statistical numbers right across the board. Yards, TDs attempts....
Our line is half of what Tennessee has.

It's not fundamentally flawed at all. It's the core issue around a TB and why in today's NFL you shouldn't overpay for the position.

And the reality is Elliott isn't playing behind the worst OL in football, in fact, the metrics show his OL has been at least competent in run blocking. Football Outsiders had them as a top half of the league OL. He wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire when he had Dak earlier this year too.

You guys can continue to make excuses and try to prop him up all you want but he's not an elite TB, he's not a game changing back at this point and he's pretty much overpaid. Dallas had a choice and like the Jones' typically do, they made a poor roster decision in signing him to a huge extension.

Folks are just being haterz.

I think it’s pretty awesome we’ve got a reincarnated version of Craig “Iron Head” Heyward playing for us.

He’s worth every penny.
