Wasn't just last year Garrett had this team 8 - 8. He's done so in several seasons. Fans think his decade of medicore can be fixed in a handful of games w/no practice or preseason. Not to mention all the injuries.

I didn't realize that Dak played every position on offense, defense and special teams. Wow, who knew.

That isn't the point.. Some are trying to insinuate that losing Dak is the sole reason why the season went down the toilet and that just isn't true. No one knows if Dak behind center equals a few more wins. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. They certainly weren't racking up the W's before he went down.

He had a top 5 Corner and almost everyone applauded when they let him walk this offseason.

Almost everyone applauded Zeke signing.

Cooper signing? Yay!

A lot of people applaud his moves.
Top 5? No.

Just looking at the ratings, Byron Jones is rated as the 4th best #2 CB in the NFL. He was never top 5. Before someone asks:

Gilmore
Xavien Howard
Ramsey
Tredavius White
Sherman

Slay
Lattimore
Fuller
PP
Ward

Humphrey

There's 11 easily better.

Cowboys fans- myself included- tend to overrate this team’s talent. That’s just what fans do. If I’m taking off the fan glasses, this team has a lot of holes.

If you look at last season when we were mostly healthy, after that 3-0 start, this team went 5-8. Yes, the injuries have hurt this year, but if you increase the size of this picture and also include 2018- the last time this team made the playoffs- through this year so far- that’s 43 games. And over those 43 games, we are 21-22.

My point is, I believe this team has a talent problem, especially on defense. This team has been devastated by injuries, but even when healthy, it’s been mostly mediocre. We probably need an infusion 4-6 new starters on defense, not to mention improving the depth. This current defensive roster is one of the least talented in the league.

And although offense is loaded at WR, and we have a very good QB, (assuming he’s healthy) the OL is a complete shadow of its former self. We may need a new LT with Ty Smith’s declining health, maybe a guard too. Zeke is clearly declining so we cannot just assume this offense will hum without some upgrade too.

All in all, I see a mediocre roster at best. It can be upgraded fairly quickly. But I believe we have to take the fan glasses off to see this team for what it is.

I watch a lotta football as I don't have a life. What I do notice is we have a real lack of talent on the D side of things. We have a couple of DE's that are good and LVE is good. Good lord besides Diggs in the secondary who is worth a hoot and he's is going to have some growing pains for sure, but he certainly has an upside. No one else on D would be considered any better then a Journeyman in this league and that's being generous. So you have maybe 4 or 5 good players on D and the other 6 or 7 are long grain rice. Not awful, not good, strictly a side dish.

Even if we devoted most of our draft picks to Defense, those youngsters are going to take a few years and by then Zeke is toast and we will need a replacement for Tyron. I personally think we need another high pick at corner and a LT and then best player available to fill a need on D (which is just about everywhere).

I don't get the "need a new OC" thinking. The Cowboy had the #1 offense in the entire NFL last year and were again #1 this year until Dak went down. So why do we need a new OC?

Too many stupid calls possibly costing games IMO.
I mean calls that never have worked before, they fail, then he uses them again, and fails, then uses them again.

I won’t harp on it constantly if he is retained. Only will point out that it was a bad call during game threads.
If I feel like it was a bad call for the situation. Not that I know better, as I don’t, just an opinion like everyone else.

Ummm.. I was out ahead of a lot of this.. No second guessing.

Just like Dak and his future mediocre team results that he locks us into.

Myself and many others are warning about this but some of you are like “ buh buh he had lots of yards!”
And scored a ton of points.

Dak isn’t the only reason. The entire offensive line is 3rd stringers or less except for Conner. But at least when Dak was playing we were competitive despite the offensive line and the entire defense.

Do doubt he’s had some bad calls, as do all OC’s but someone needs to get credit for having the #1 offense in the entire NFL for the last year and a half because no one wants to give Dak any of the credit.

They were 1-3 when Dak was playing. Dak going down didn't destroy the season, it was already headed in that direction before that happened. Hell, even last season they only managed 8-8 with a mostly healthy roster, so how was Dak's injury so devastating?

because we still had players returning from injury, and you’d assume the ridiculous TO ratio would regress towards the mean. W/ Dak there’s potential to right the ship. Without, there’s not
