Is Dalton gone in 2021?

..I know he signed a 1 yr contract. To sign him again would take more $$$ that could be used someone else.

I guess the important question is. Does he make a legitimate backup? After seeing GG play one game, I would say no. Dalton to me has been more of a letdown. At most a serviceable backup. I would keep GG, let Red Baron go.

Worst case scenario, we pay Dak the JAG what he wants.
We can bear the pain with Dalton and Gilbert if we are too stupid to pick A QB in the first three rounds of the draft.
Still, Dak/Dalton/Gilbert are not too shabby.

who cares? I hope we sign the legend who couldn't beat anyone at the first of the year but somehow he would have beaten these other opponents with a worse offensive line. lmao. the legend continues to grow.

Can’t blame Dalton for anything bad behind a 3rd string OL and a horrible defense that does not help and bad play calls and coaches decisions.

it may depend on what offers he gets from other teams. But if no great offers, I am sure he could be back here also.

Gilbert isnt anywhere near as good as Dalton.

There was literally no film on him before the game when Pittsburgh decided they barely needed to show up to win (and weren't wrong).

Dalton is at home in Dallas, has made enough money already, and no one is going to bet their own job on him as a starter from here.

You might be surprised.

Something about guys with red hair on the Cowboys sidelines rubs me the wrong way......I can't put my finger on it.

Dalton really has not proved that he can be a starter in the NFL. Bring him back at the same price or cheaper.

he is probably going to a team that feels they are contender and don't have a QB at all, maybe somebody like chicago. or a team that's tanking or rebuilding, like panthers or jax. not many other teams need his services. you can't build around him. there is 10 years of film on him and he is what he is. an older QB, who is in the waning moments of his career, hoping to cash one more big pay check.

Could it possibly be that we've seen the best of Garrett Gilbert and the cursed efforts of Andy Dalton?

Let's face it -- the persistent rash of injuries to the Cowboys hasn't done their performance any favors!

I'd consider it a welcomed blessing to see this organization allow GG to further demonstrate his wares.

Other teams are gonna see his value and sign him to a mega deal. We on the other hand are gonna be stuck with Dakota and a cruddy comp pick.
