In a year where injuries and poor execution made this season dissolve faster than a snowball on a Dallas summer sidewalk, there are 3 bright lights that have come through in the darkness of a bad season.

Going into the season, these three guys were not considered to be future starters or even major contributors. But after injuries and disappointments from the players ahead of them in the depth chart, these guys have emerged as big contributors with a bright future:
  • Dalton Schultz-TE- the former 4th rounder from Stanford has emerged this year after the injury to Blake Jarwin in game one. Schultz has caught 44 passes for 432 yards and 3 TDs and has also improved as a blocker, which was his strength out of college. Who would have guessed he would become the reliable safety valve for all 4 QBs who have played this year. We found a pretty good TE now in Schultz.
  • Donovan Wilson- S- after being a little used backup early on behind Darrian Thompson, Wilson has emerged the last few weeks as a monster hitter who has forced a couple of turnovers and is everywhere on the field. His coverage skills are still “developing” and I’m not sure yet if he’s “the answer” at S long term, but he has certainly made himself part of the discussion.

  • Dorrance Armstrong- DE- also a former 4th rounder, Armstrong caught the eye of Mike Mac and other coaches early on this year in practices. Because of that, he has earned more playing time of late and has shown some flashes both as a run stopper and occasionally as a pass rusher. He’s probably never going to be a star, but as a rotational player, he has shown he’s capable of making enough plays to have a future here.
It’s been a rough year. But if these three guys continue to improve, their development might make the disappointment of this season less frustrating. None of them will probably ever be stars, but it takes more than stars to win in this league. These three have certainly been bright lights in the darkness.

If Jarwin can come back healthy, they really have a nice 1-2 punch at TE now.

I really want to see more of Wilson. He plays with an edge, he can tackle and he seems to have decent instincts. Maybe a future as a solid SS for us.

Armstrong? Ehhh. He looks the same to me but that's not a bad thing. You need competent depth along the DL and he seems to provide that.

I almost added Tyler Biadz and Connor McGovern to this list. McGovern has come on as of late as a RG. Just not enough reps to know what he is yet. Biadz showed some promise before getting hurt. Again, too small a sample size.

You have to include Gallimore and Lamb.
There is some talented youth core to this roster.

I also think Trevon Diggs is going to develop into a number one corner in his second year. It's a shame he got hurt just as he started to get his feet under him.
Hes a bit slow but who isnt in our secondary,,lol
but I do see that natural ability to make a play, and I take that all day.

The really 100w lightbulbs to me are Diggs, Gallimore, Biadasz, and Lamb.... these are ok but more like lights with dim switches on them....bright and can fade...we don't know for sure. Those i mentioned are starters for the next ten years hopefully. But yeah, Schultz and Wilson could be something. I like how Wilson comes in with a full load of bricks to hit people.

The 2020 draft class looks like a huge success. I hope the coaching staff gives playing time to Reggie Robinson (inactive all year) and Bradlee Anae the last five weeks too; we might have two more bright lights and not even know it.

Hate to tell you this, but masses quote my work every day and they have no idea who I am.
I've changed minds. I've made families' days and nights. I've shifted entire economies and made people gain and lose millions upon millions by betting on me.

Not bad for a stonie.
Wish I was paid more. Then I could donate more.

What would you say to a 2-TE set of Schultz and Jarwin off the right side of the O line?
And on the other side, CD and Amari?
How could anyone cover them???

I think both will be major players. I agree with the first three. But we must settle our qb issue one way or another.
