As well as could be expected sans smith, collins, erving and zack. And at times looney, knight and biadasz. Did i miss any?

Well we did lose Steele to diarrhea for a half too. So pretty much everybody who has played on the line has had to sit out for one reason or another. Realistically there was absolutely zero chance of any team suffering the number of losses on the line, at TE, and at QB and hope to have any success this year. It's lunacy to even pretend. The main reason to even watch the rest of this season is to see which of the young guys has anything. Basically the next 5 games are essentially a head start on the 2021 preseason.

Which circles back to the original point. You can't have too many good players on the OL............... not that Erving, Knight, Biadasz, and Looney qualify as good NFL players. These are JAGS and would be on the bottom of most NFL rosters.

Looks like a rebuild to me. Better do something or Wash will own us for years to come.

They played our damn JV team. For that matter we held close for most the game. I dont believe they own us going forward. Most teams would flounder had they gone through our terrible string of injuries. This isn't a case of losing a key player or two and playing next man up. We cant even keep our back ups healthy.

Not true. Even with our 2nd and 3rd string line its about league average. The league oline are bad and we do plenty to try to upgrade our oline.

Our best hope is that the doctors who operated on Tyron and La'el are good at their jobs. If those two guys come back at full strength and Zack can move back inside our line will be fine. Actually it'll be better than fine. It'll be dominant again. Speaking of Zack.. might it be that he is in fact better suited to be playing inside? Seems like the shuffling has exposed him to more injuries as well. The only real question mark I have about next season (aside from the obvious health question) is whether Biadasz is really going to be a good NFL or a JAG. If he approaches what Fredbeard was and we get another 5 years out of Zack, Tyron and La'el this thing will get back on track pretty quick.

No way you are going to get 5 or 6 years out of Tyrone Smith. He hasn't been able to stay healthy for the last 5. Dream on.

He turns 30 on the 12th of December. Hopefully the surgery fixes what's been screwing him up each season.

Oh you want to bring Belehek into this debate? Go look at what he pays WRs and RBs. He wouldn't have drafted Lamb or Zeke or signed Amari to that ridiculous contract.

Tremendously deep on the OL? We had nobody at center, a LT with a bad back, and poor play at RG. I'd say OL was a huge need going into the off season. But, we needed that WR b/c the goal here is to recreate Matt Millen's dream WR core apparently.

Whatever the merits of Zeke in the Romo window, I certainly wouldn't have signed him to an extension. Probably not Cooper either, though the big mistake there was giving up a 1st just for a year and a half rental to sign him to big fat free agent money.

Would be interesting to see what Belichick would have done if Lamb had dropped in his lap. We'll never know, but I could see him taking him. Pick 17 for a starting ready WR#1? That's a good deal.

Tremendously deep at oline *next* year. Yeah, we had nothing at C *this* year, and then didn't even let McGovern compete or center.

But as it turned out *this* year, Loooney played better than I expected, at least, and though we don't know how McGovern would have done at C, his is higher rated by PFF than Looney or Biadasz. And Biadasz had mixed reviews, but some very high.

Next year, it should be McGovern and Biadasz fighting it out for C, with the loser being backup interior olineman, and Looney a gameday inactive. Looks pretty deep at interior oline to me. T we'll have Knight and Steele and maybe that Hyatt guy someday. Should also be McGovern competing with Williams for LG, and Williams cross trained at T too. Of Williams, Knight, McGovern, Williams, and Looney, we start 2 and have the other 3 as backups. Tyron, Martin, and Collins as the other starters. We'll see if Tyron heals up. If not, we can take a T high with that first pick.

I see depth.

Where you see depth, I see Jags barely hanging on to NFL careers. I get that you can't have a stud at every back-up spot but when was the last time Tyron Smith was healthy for 16 games? We didn't need a WR in round 1......not inside the top 20. LG has been a mess for years. Connor Williams sucks. He can't move anyone off the LOS. Maybe McGovern is better but he's been here for awhile and we still know very little other than he's playing behind guys who aren't very good.

This is mcgoverns 2nd year and his 1st was injured and no real offseason this year so i wouldnt says hes been here a while.

Though our best lineup would probably be williams backing up every spot on the oline with mcgovern starting. Id have already made the change this year with smith out.
You should look at the olines across the league.
Who would have been the better pick instead of lamb??

Games are won and lost in the trenches. It’s always been that way and it always will be that way. It’s not rocket surgery.

The silver lining with all the injuries on the line this year we will finally get to see if in fact McGovern is better than Williams. If he is, the coaching staff should not hesitate to bump him to starter at LG next year. Then we could groom Williams as the swing tackle giving us a pretty decent swing tackle.. probably our best since Ron Stone. Looney is more than capable as the swing guard and backup center.. Start the season with Smith, McGovern, Biadasz, Martin and Collins with Williams and Looney in the bullpen? I'd call that a win..

There are no current DTs, LBs, CBs or S in next year's draft worthy of a Top 10 overall pick, much less a Top 5 overall pick. So why not pick the best Olineman in the draft who is easily ranked in the Top 5 and can play both Tackle and Guard positions? Or would you rather overdraft for a defensive player not worthy of such a high pick? Cowboys are in big need of both a O-Tackle and/or an O-Guard as we have seen this season. Cowboys can use rounds 2-7 on Defense. Problem solved with best case scenario due to value of said positional players coming out of the draft.
We need Fields or Lawrence. With the money we don’t use on Daks huge contract. We can fish the FA market. This team isn’t done yet for the next few seasons. This entire division is trash.

The offensive line when healthy is okay. Especially if we can solidify the LT, RT and center position. The swing guards you can find easily.

We may also be being overly harsh on Williams.. He rushed back from the knee surgery because he could smell McGovern's breath breathing down his neck for his job and he is clearly NOT 100% this year. At least not from a strength standpoint. He and his recovery are yet another Covid-19 casualty. Instead of getting a full offseason with the trainers dude was left to 90% of his rehab from knee surgery by himself. That pretty much never works ..

Biadasz hasn't begun to show his full ability, but he'll be more than a jag. Looney might not be a pro bowl player, but he's done well at both center and guard. Erving has looked good the last few games. Knight, up and down.

I'd like to see us get Frank Pollack back to coach the o-line.
