And you know for a fact Lawrence will light the NFL on fire? Please spare me the comparisons to Manning or anyone else for that matter. Every year the so called “experts” tell us how great certain QB’s are supposed to be or how some aren’t worthy and every year they are mostly wrong.

Just look at the 2018 draft class, that tells you all you need to know and there are several other examples.

Mitch Trubisky, Sam Darnold, Marcus Mariota, Paxton Lynch, Josh Rosen, Jameis Winston, Blake Bortles, and Dwayne Haskins come to mind.

I brought that passing yards don't matter. Nobody right now has a 2021 Super Bowl......so that's irrelevant.

You know what? I like you, I really do. You are interesting and you use deflection so well.

Deflection lol? Hardly. Actually that's what you're doing. The poster said "passing yards" don't matter. I bring up the passing yard leaders in 2020.......then you say how many SB's they have.....if that ain't deflection then what is lol?

Id draft Lawrence and start him at FS. He's better than what we have right now. He'd be a good backup to Dinucci.

Give me the choice between Dak and Lawrence on the same draft day, no brained....I go Lawrence.
And while Dak is a proven and still improving QB, show me that we have a winning team with the QB holding us back, I still go Lawrence today on his upside, despite my being a huge Dak fan.

But even if I’m certain Lawrence will be top 5 and Dak will be only top 10-12 (hypothetical), I’m not swapping a very good starting QB for what might be an extremely good QB when the thing that held us back with Romo and Dak has been the defense. Nope, I stay with Dak and continue drafting defense and maybe 1 OL.

And don’t give me that false narrative that the cap hit will keep us from building a good defense. We have had millions unspent the past two years. Jerry was burned bad in FA and will not be paying top dollar for another team’s problem. We will draft defense, continue to use inexpensive FAs to fill out the roster depth, and restructure contracts when we need to resign a star player.....just like other teams do it.

They weren't wrong on Elway, Aikman, Manning and Luck. Everybody knew what they were and Lawrence had a much more prolific college career than them.

Nothing is 100% but you would not bet on him being a bust.
And look at 2018. Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield...bust, bust, bust. Lamar Jackson was better than all 3. Brady, Romo...not busts. Eli? Some people consider him a bust, or at least not nearly worth the #1 overall pick. Rivers? Never did anything that noteworthy.

I’m not claiming Lawrence will be a bust, I don’t think he will be, but Dak is plenty good enough to win a championship, the problem isn’t the QB, it’s the defense. I prefer to draft defense and keep Dak rather than give up a boatload of picks that will screw us more down the line then paying Dak.

And Paxton was the one Jerry really wanted

Yes, yes I do. I'm healthy, I have a great blues band, I'm a Cowboy fan, I have a nice Jeep, a few rifles (with ammo), I live in a nice house, I eat good, workout daily, love one woman (not some cowboy player), and pretty handsome, too! How bout you?
I'm envious. I want a blues band!

I'm saying that Dak passes for 2,357 yards a game and has not won anything. Those other jokers that passed for lots of yards have something to show for it. The reason I bring this up is because from what I read, you Dak fans are consumed with passing yards for some odd reason because Dak throws for lots of yards and...nothing. And this was when he played behind a kick butt line, nothing. Even Zeke at his best...nothing.

(But, but...it was the defense that held him back or Garrett, take your pick!)

This current team just beat the Vikings with 200 passing yards with a washed up QB. Those are efficient passing yards, not just throwing a peanut as far as you can and hope the guy on the other end catches it to bail you out.
