Mitch Trubisky, Sam Darnold, Marcus Mariota, Paxton Lynch, Josh Rosen, Jameis Winston, Blake Bortles, and Dwayne Haskins come to mind.
No way we are getting Lawrence, but every QB you listed was never thought of anywhere near what Lawrence is. You really think those names compare to his coming out of college? Honest question.

One of the best of the best. I remember making his brother sandwiches when I was a teenager in Austin. Showed off his hot rod collection to me.
Worked for a company called Texas French Bread.

I miss that place.
SRV was a deity to me. Met him once in a store, he was buying a pack of Kools and I was getting beer. He signed my bag. The day I heard the news they weren't sure if it was Stevie or Clapton on the helicopter, I was praying it was Clapton. Yeah, I kinda suck like that.

Seen him early on at a place near the railroad tracks in San Marcos, wish I could remember the name of the place. It was legendary for the talent they got in there.

Ahh ok got you. I'll omit the Jets from the discussion will that help you out any?

Whatever suits your fancy.

I'm not selling the farm for the likes of Lawrence when our team keeps getting QB's killed. And the defense sucks (although admittedly playing better).

If you/we don't want to keep Dak for $$$$$...okay fine. Keep what we have or another way. Otherwise it's Cincinnati 2020 v2.0

And a lot of QB's with your (imagined) precious NCAA QB rating have BUSTED!

You think Lawrence will be as good as Patrick MAhomes?
Not sure. Mahomes did not have all the fanfare that Lawrence had. Hill even said he thought he was trash after his first practice with the Chiefs. If I knew that Lawrence will be just as good or better than Mahomes, I would trade up to get him but we know the Jets are not going to give up the pick. I am looking at it from a financial standpoint with Lawrence. Trying to keep the emotional part out of it because I like Dak. Dak is better than any qb coming out this year except for Lawrence, imo.

Lol...that didn't answer the question, and I also stated we were not going to get Lawrence. But thanks for your useless post.
Well thanks for THIS useless post!

Edit: and I most certainly DID answer your question you just didn't like the answer. Denial is a terrible thing.

That's the thing though. These "scouts" and media will hype up all of these guys like Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield and then a guy like Mahomes creeps up and becomes the best quarterback we've seen. You just can' predict this stuff. No one thought Herbert would be the best quarterback in this past free agent class. Hell no one thought Dak would be in 2016.....

And in 3 or 4 years the stars may perfectly align for us to have a 1 year window at a championship.

Dak is a 1 way ticket to being mediocre for a long time. If we're lucky we might win a wildcard game.
It’s idiot fans who can’t even acknowledge what Dak accomplished this year with such a porous offensive line that he had to work with. Ignorant fans like this are blinded by their hate. It’s what they do. *****, moan, tank and get back to your Madden game which is the only place you belong.

I understand that. I liked Herbert coming out but we had Dak. I have seen Lawrence play several times. Very impress with him. Saw the Wilson from BYU play once and he was impressive although it was against Boise St. Dak is good but I think Lawrence is better. Then again I could be wrong.

was thinking more recent than Troy, Cam, Mannings...for that matter any top 6 QB and guess it depends on what defines success with a few of those guys. Point being we don't need a QB in the 1st round, and a guy like Goff I don't see as being a success as much as winning as a matter of circumstance wht the team he is on. I can argue that Stafford could have been an incredibly successful QB if put in the right situation, which clearly he has not been
You can argue anyone, but Goff has been successful up to this point.

Stafford has definitely been successful.

To spend on who? We can make these blanket statements but have you noticed no one mentions a actual name when talking about signing free agents? Because there’s no one out there. There will be no corner available as good as Surtain. No offensive linemen available.

Happens a lot around these parts ......lol

Well.. Before you go that route maybe consider that you're wrong. The guy that owns the team and who is optimistic to a fault dismisses his "accomplishments".

We were talking about Dak’s “accomplishments” this season. I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
I'm talking about the same thing you're talking about. You are saying Jerry doesn't acknowledge his accomplishments yet you didn't post a quote or anything?

He gave the contract before the season.

The topic is his accomplishments during the season and how Jerry doesn't think those accomplishments were anything special.

I'm assuming Dak's "accomplishments" that Rockport is speaking of are his "garbage time stats".

Giving him a contract is irrelevant. Jerry has forced that on himself by handing over all leverage to Dak.

Ok so I'm asking you how has Jerry commended Dak's accomplishments? What would you have liked for him to have said that he didn't?

Did you miss the garbage time stats thread that quoted Jerry during a radio interview?
