Look, our content or discontent has nothing to do with whether the Cowboys win. We don't play ball; they do.

I'm not "content" any more than you are, but I don't blame fans who are content. They are simply making peace with a situation that they have no control over.

Does your agitation and restlessness make Zeke gain any additional yardage, or the secondary pick off any more balls?
No but I don’t sit here and say I’m content because they were good 25 years ago.

agree....which is why i think some fans are satisfied with just winning the division...as weak as it is ....and losing in the first round. I feel if you were a fan of the 90's teams, you have higher expectations. Not only did you expect to win the division, you expected to be in the NFCC game. And you know what a championship team looks like. I fear what we see now, is the new normal.

They say everything is better in the 90's and even today it still hold true.

I feel sorry for you. It was a GREAT, Dominating time. Almost had 4 SB in a row.

I am content with having that as a great sports time in my life.

Cowboys won 3 SBs
Yankees won 4 WS in 5 years.

Cowboys are at 25 years with nothing.
Embarrassing playoff appearances.

It’s going to be like this ( clown show operations) for a long time.

JETS just passed 50 years... we prob give that a run.

At end of day. I’m ok with nostalgia of 90s. Not many can have a legit run like that.
Enjoy the 60s just as much Tom Landry

Including the cartoons. The original Pokemon, Animaniacs (which they've had to bring back), Ed, Edd, n Eddy, the original episodes of Spongebob, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Rugrats, Fairly Oddparents, I can go on lol.

I grew up in the best era but I wasn't allow to experience it thanks to my parents. I wasn't allow to watch MJ Bulls because I had to go to Sunday school every week which mean I didn't watch football until I became an adult either way. But the biggest miss in my life was missing out on the best part of my childhood which was the WWF Attitude Era and most of the Ruthless Aggression Era. Wrestling is apart of almost every child staple back then and I wasn't allow to experience it or be a child in the first place.

I wanted cable so badly back then but when you have parents like mine, everything is consider immoral. So many great cartoons like you said including the cartoon on cable with the bears family and the Jetson and rugrats and so much more. As for local cartoon, my favorite was Bobby's World, Beast Wars, and Sailor Moon. The 90's ended when cell phone existed and now everyone is offended by everything and I feel so out of place in the modern world where football is the only thing keeping me engage and that too is sadly a mess :banghead:

Maybe, maybe not. I do feel that was the best Cowboy team since 95.
The 2016 playoff team was close.
Losing that home divisional round game was gut-wrenching.
But I had my doubts about DAL going against ATL despite the championship game would have been @ AT&T Stadium....the "Funky Birds" were on a serious playoff run (as evidenced by their near dominant--- then collaspe in the SB).

I didn't miss a game between 1990 and 1996.
My two favorite plays of that era are the pass to Alvin Harper that went for about 70 yards to seal the NFCCG in SF. And pass to Alvin Harper for about 90 yards against GBP in the NFCCG.
Reggie White could be heard on the sidelines yelling "Everytime we come down here they kick our ***".
.
Yup good times......

Agreed. They hooked me.

Growing up in Commander territory was interesting. All of my family members, & most of my friends were Skins fans. I only got to see Staubach play live once. Although, I saw a Landry coached team several times. The biggest game I ever went to was:

enhance

What a different era of football that was. So glad I got to witness it, & so many of the legends. The younger fans of today, don't know what they missed.
They'll always be the Commanders to me.
Hail to the Commanders.

Great post and I feel sorry for those who can’t tag on the 70’s too. It was a great run with Roger, Tony, Drew and Doomsday.

Did you know that the Cowboys STILL have the best historical win percentage among all franchises at 56.9 percent?

That how good they were...when they were good.

I became a fan in 1970 and enjoyed 10 NFC championship appearences, 5 Super Bowl appearences, and 2 Super Bowl championships before I experienced my first losing season in 1986....7-9.

They had started out the season 6-2 with a RB duo of Tony Dorsett and Herschel Walker. However, Danny White got hurt and that was devastating.

When Jimmy Johnson came, I was resentfull at first because of the way Landry was treated. But I knew, from the way Jimmy was building this team, that they would have a period of success. I certainly didn't see 3 Super Bowls in their first seven seasons.

My greatest fear is that I will get used to the Cowboys losing. I can report that, for now, it hurts just as much as it did when they rarely lost.

If you know what the Dallas Cowboys franchise was in the 70s, early 80s and early 90s, you'll NEVER get used to what these nonsense-jerry-cowboys are doing, now.
.
Win or lose, the Dallas Cowboys were once a proud and respected organization.

Also, there was something special about having only one head coach in the history of the franchise.
Of course that couldn't last for every, and time came for that to change. And Jimmy Johnson couldn't have been a more perfect replacement. He was a winner, fair, but a tough coach.
After Jimmy, Bill Parcells was another good one, who had the team going in the right direction again. But no. Jerry had to ruin that, too.

I was a teenager during our 90's dynasty. I'm grateful to be able to remember it all, and content with living in the past until we can start winning Super Bowls again.......whenever that will be.

All I have is Dez Bryant dropping the catch and Romo botching the snap. I am slowly going insane.

Dez didn't drop the pass. He caught the ball and it came out when he hit the ground. He didn't drop anything. Today it would be a catch and down by contact.

I rarely post, but feeling nostalgic perhaps, I wanted to give my feelings about the Cowboys since I started following them at the age of 13? back in 1970-71. There have been so many times that we coulda shoulda woulda it makes me sick. If Tony hadn't bobbled the ball or had run it in, if Dez hadn't bobbled the ball and the defense held, if Jackie Smith had held on, etc etc etc. We've been cursed, and blessed. Hope I live to see another ring, but if not I did watch one of the best teams ever win what COULDA been 4 or even 5 straight SBs...

I saw all 8 super bowls with 5 wins....great history. Fans of other teams knew all the Cowboy players names in the 70s but could only name a few on their own team. They were on national TV all the time and Roger was must see TV for all his comebacks. Jimmy's teams were just dominating when they got good, the criticism at the time was if they didnt win by enough.....we got spoiled. Now were not even close to that, now we get excited about high draft picks or winning a first round playoff game.

I like the 70's. I think I got spoiled in that era because it seemed like the Boys were in the playoffs like 20 out of 21 years....something like that. The giants, Commanders, Cards on Thanksgiving, (man, those were some good games when Hart played for the cardinals), and of course the eagles. Landry was like Lombardi and Bear Bryant. Just a great coach by all accounts. There will never be another Landry. A man among coaches and a man of God. It's something our current owner will never understand or be.
the only season they missed, in 74, set up a draft where 12 rookies helped the team go to the Super Bowl the next year, so even that year was, soon after, satisfying
