Funny seeing as how Dak defenders try and point out his 13-3 rookie record or his record the first 4 years........oh but when pointing out the last few years of Dak's record somehow wins and losses are not a QB stat......sad.

Funny that I never pointed anything about his record as a rookie because it is not relevant because wins are not a QB stat. Its almost like I am consistent in saying that regardless of whether they imply something good happening or something bad happening.

Dak is significantly better as a football player now than in 2016, but the team itself is drastically worse (largely due to MANY MANY MANY failed draft picks over the past few years). Neither of these things are in doubt.

Get well so we can tag and trade you....... I love you man but this team is dumpster fire.

Gee won't you be disappointed when Prescott signs a long term contract. Whether he signs a long term contract or just gets tagged again, the Cowboys aren't going to trade him.

They're not, they're a team stat. You're the one who cherry picks.

I doubt most of those guys did not sit on the bench hoping for an injury to the starter, they were probably starters growing up. Hey, he said it, don't deflect what "he" said, if anything it's an odd take from him, a confession without not even knowing it. He was never that good growing up.

Prescott started 3 years in high school and then played his freshman year in college but took over as the starter his sophomore season and started for 3 years in college. Here are a few things he accomplished in college.

  • Single game record for passing yards in the Orange Bowl (453)
  • Single game record for passing attempts in the Orange Bowl (51, tied)
  • Single game record for passing completions in the Orange Bowl (33, tied)
  • Single game record for passing yards in the Belk Bowl (380)
  • Single game record for total yards in the Belk Bowl (427)
  • Single game record for touchdown passes in the Belk Bowl with (4, tied)
  • 2016 Senior Bowl Most Outstanding Player
  • 2015 Senior Class Award
  • 2014 and 2015 Conerly Trophy
  • 2015 Belk Bowl MVP
  • 2013, 2014, and 2015 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll
  • 2015 SEC Offensive Player of the Week (at Arkansas and vs. Kentucky)
  • 2014 and 2015 First-team All-SEC (AP and Coaches)
  • 2014 SEC Offensive Player of Week (at LSU, vs. Auburn, and vs. Vanderbilt)
  • 2015 Liberty Bowl MVP

As a pro he started setting NFL records as a rookie by having the fewest picks of a rookie QB starting at least 10 games with only 4. He is the ONLY QB in NFL history to throw for 450 yards in three consecutive games. As a Cowboy he holds the record for the most wins by a rookie QB at 13.

There seem to be a lot of accomplishments for someone you say was never good.

Nice to hear our franchise QB is doing well in his rehab and staying positive while also trying to help others stay that way. He really has remarkable leadership skills and it's easy to see why his teammates rally around him. It's strange to me that PEOPLE WOULD PICK THIS THREAD to come in and crap on him. But when I look at the cast of characters...well crap says it all. Almost as sickening is the fact that Romo (4 years removed) still gets drug around and abused in these same threads. I guess it takes all kinds of crappy people to make the world go around.
Any....no - EVERY THREAD CREATED IN THIS FORUM that centers around quarterback(s) \ QB play, or those that features-mentions Prescott or Romo --- football related or not -
will morph into the zealous back-and-forth pro- & anti-Dak (Romo) comment barrage; then the posts deteriorate to slinging barbs between individuals.
HAPPENS EVERY TIME

1-2 in playoffs
29-24 since his rookie season

So what has he accomplished?

Sad statement about the franchise if the franchise leader has led the team to a 28-24 record over the course of the last 3-1/4 years......so a .538 winning % leader.....just barely average for a barely average franchise....seems fitting.
You're a complete and total clusterfudge embarrassment to our Armed Services! Why are you being so deceitful? Why not include all of the 5.3 years of games Dak has started in?

We had similar vitriolic comments on Romo. Some of which you participated in relentlessly. Why is Dak exempt?

If we learned anything after all of these years on these forums is everyone is subject to criticism, bashing, trolling , etc.
Add to this posters putting out statements or putting up figures that are either false, inaccurate, misleading, or wrong. They're recall is bad and they don't take the time to research \double check their information.

I'll be glad to welcome Dak back, if for no other reason than, he's way better than any other QB in house. ;)

It will certainly be likely to stay that way, as long as that's the case. It can change if that changes, though! o_O

No, they don't.
And he IS NOT the franchise leader. He's not even on a long term contract. Jerry was smarter than that.
WRONG!

Dak IS the franchise leader. He is under contract this year and will be resigned as soon as the season finishes.

Name them! I dare you...

Don't be making up crap about me, unless you can outright name it!

But all we have to look how bad it was before Dak arrived like 2015 ( 4-12) and now in 2020 without Dak.

Average or mediocrity with Dak looks much more attractive. But yes, our dysfunctional ownership has lowered the bar this era. Not Dak.
The record that season was because Romo went down to injury.
And.... how 'bad' was the season before that? 2014 - a 12-4 record and a playoff win.

It's gonna be a while before the Cowboys get a QB that is better than Dak. Because in order for that to happen Dak is going to have to regress significantly or even just stand still. Which as we know in the NFL is pretty much the same thing as regressing. There is currently only a handful of QBs I would swap even up with Dak and of those only one of them is younger than Dak, that being Mahomes. Other people are gaga over the flashy potential and pretty numbers displayed by guys like Burrow and Herbert while ignoring the fact that their numbers are not even as pretty as Dak's were and are resulting in an even lower win rate. But Dak's numbers are empty while those guys' numbers show they're better than Dak despite being inferior and resulting in fewer wins. Go figure.

All of which underscores just how important it is to have competent QB play and the difference it can make .. All the more reason to dispense with the notion that we can just roll any ole draft pick at QB in here and cure what ails this team. Especially since so much of what ails this team is on the defensive side of the ball.

Football history has listed and recorded team wins total, but also under the category of an individual quarterback's starts. It's done on every level of the sport - high schools and their state athletics associations; collegiate programs, conferences, divisions (NCAA, NAIA, etc.); professional leagues.
