Stats for 75 games possibly played

A) 17,240 passing yards
103 TDs
52 Ints
92 QBR
147 rushing attempts
270 yards rushing
8TDs
19 Fumbles lost

B) 17,634 passing yards
106 TDs
40 Ints
97.3 QBR
259 rushing attempts
1,314 rushing yards
24TDs
18 Fumbles lost

C) 16,732 passing yards
113 TDs
50 Ints
89.4 QBR
255 rushing attempts
1043 rushing yards
8TDs
23 fumbles lost

If you chose option A- you selected Jared Goff
If you chose option B- you selected Dak Prescott
If you chose option C- you selected Carson Wentz

But let's face it, everyone picked option B.

to me this narrative and fantasy fan debate still doesnt matter and never did, the truth is they are all tier 2 and if all switched situation's the numbers most likely shift

add Carr ,cousins and others they are ALL in the same log jam talent wise in tier 2

coin toss on whos actually better IMHPO there truly no CLEAR winner

btw giving the answer in the same OP ruins the debate, should have waited until about 3 pages were eaten up and did a reveal..

I prefer option D:

12,909 passing yards
106 TDs
20 ints.
102.8 QBR
155 rushing attempts
715 rushing yards
6 TDS
4 fumbles lost

That's only in 42 games, but I don't like just comparing Prescott to Wentz and Goff. Just because those QBs aren't better doesn't mean that we shouldn't want better. We should want a Rodgers, Wilson or (stats above) Mahomes.

We've seen Dak play on a similar level his rookie year, which is what gives me hope that he can have more of those kinds of years. But frankly, Wentz and Goff aren't good enough and set the bar lower than it needs to be.

of course everyone wants a Mahomes man.

But let’s be honest. When discussing what is best for the team. Saying “let’s get a Mahomes” isn’t a legit strategy. You could draft a QB with the #1 pick for a decade straight and not land a QB as good as Mahomes is.

was watching the Rams game the other week and they said over the last 3 seasons Goff has been one of the top 3 winning QBs.
Say what you want about McVay reading and calling plays but Goff can throw strikes at key moments.
Sure. He can also throw the ball directly to the other team as well as anyone.

Every quarterback in the league "can throw strikes at key moments."

I’m still trying to understand how Dak’s arm got such a bad rap. I mean. We have all literally watched Dak make excellent throws for over 4 years now. Yet people still question his “arm talent” or whatever nonsense term they want to throw around.

Dak is clearly the best QB of those 3, but these stats actually indicate the gap isnt nearly as wide as I would have thought.

The stats don't show how many pass attempts per quarterback and also how many games started/played. Dak has been out around a half dozen games already this season to date.

Of course we would take B or Dak, but none of these QBs is worth $40 million a year. If Dak would take $33 million he would already be signed to a long term deal with Dallas.

Dak's got a strong arm and can make all the throws, but he's not a natural passer. That's why his footwork and mechanics are so important and he's looked so bad when those have broken down.

He's not the kind of guy who can change arm angles and that sort of things to make throws.

He wasn't referring to individual performance. Major difference lol.

So you speak for Belichick now when you put an asterisk by what he says? I don't think what he says is for Teams only but also applies to individual players, that the most important stat ultimately is the wins. I remember back when McFlabb was claiming he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame because he has better numbers than Troy Aikman. https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...cnabb-shot-troy-aikman-hall-of-fame/39514619/ Who would you pick McNabb or Aikman? Aikman sacrificed his personal stats for wins as did Michael Irvin.

Why waste so much space?

You link an entirely different article than the topic lmao.
As was said, saying W-Ls is all that matters when evaluating individual player's performance is next level stupid. Anyone who thinks that should be embarrassed LOL

I want the one with the highest winning percentage.
Honestly , winning comes from a complete team , a team with our Defense cant be estimated just on QB.

foot note : I like Dak , but the one who has harped on his limitations as QB and recognize he is not Elite QB

this

however over 5 years Dak has shown us who he is
An above average QB who will need an absolutely great supporting cast to even get to the NFCCG
I cannot support paying him 35 million/y because he is not all that and it greatly reduces our chances of building the team that he needs to succeed

How about one of us try to hold a ball up by our ear, poised to pass...and let a 280 lb guy crash our blind side...or have a linebacker poking at while you are staring downfield.
One of us?
lol a million times... we die on the field that day.

Why didn't we do that while Dak was still on a 4th round rookie contract?
