Not just because it's virtual lock that Jackson, Campbell, Ingram and Dobbins will all be back for the game against us but also because of that defense. That defense is nasty. Even with a bunch of guys missing they held up pretty well against the Steelers. Our offense has not shown the ability to really make hay against a good defense that can get pressure up the middle. Our best hope is that the guys who were out come back weakened by Covid. But to my knowledge those guys have not actually tested positive.. rather they have just been felled by contact tracing. This does not bode well for our boys.. and that's not even accounting for what Dez might do to our pathetic secondary.
I don't think anyone is projecting us to beat BAL but we did play PITT to the same 5 point margin BAL did.
Our awful defense allowed only 25 to PITT.

That BAL offense is abysmal even with LJ this year.
But we find unique and interesting ways to lose weekly and no one should be forecasting a W here for DAL.

All that said a W shouldn't be any real world shocker either. BAL offense is possibly bad enough to keep us in the game.

I can only speak for myself, but...

1)I never expected to beat the Ravens, so Dallas losing won’t be a shock.
2)I’ve said for awhile now that teams too depleted to compete with teams like Pittsburgh and Green Bay and whomever else ALWAYS seem to get healthy and “find their groove” against Dallas.
3)Find me one team changing coaches and schemes in a Covid-shortened preseason with MORE injuries than Dallas. I’ll save myself typing all the details now, and save them for the inevitable “yeah, but...”

I believe I may have been misconstrued. I have never felt we were on equal footing with the Ravens and should expect a hard fought competitive game that could go either way. I fully understand that if they are on their game they are 20 points better than what we are currently rolling out there. What I was hoping for was that the Ravens' slump would continue and allow us to catch them in the midst of it and steal a win. But what I saw with their defense is that those guys are still gittin after it. They held Pittsburgh in check pretty much in both games they played them and they made the QB very uncomfortable. He was bailing out throwing the ball at a second and a half most of the day. That is what worries me most. They might hurt all three of our QBs and we might finish the game with Cedrick Wilson at QB.

When I said we are in trouble.. I was referring to being embarrassed and injured.. not just losing.
Well, I get that. Turkey day was pretty embarrassing. National stage and a holiday and we punched in the face by the WFT.

that Ravens defense is not what it used to be and now has been demolished by Titans RB Derrick Henry in consecutive seasons now.

the Ravens feed off the success of the defense and lamar Jackson way of QB'ing but both have come up under heavy scrutinity with the losses . such as
some are predicting Ravens may not even make the playoffs this season, ..and if they do, they could be early exits - as compare of how they dominated the NFL only a
year ago en route to Lamar Jackson being the leagues' NFL MVP.

- only it seems now, the NFL has figured the best way to play vs Lamar, and he's still not capable of getting his WRs involved in the pass game, rather use his TEs ala Mark Andrews, etc. more into the game.
If Dez gets anything it will be a patent jump ball alley ooops over Jordan Lewis or practice squadee Robinson, etc.
Lamar is not that adept at getting the ball to his WRs.

- But against the way we play defense,.. the way we get gutted vs the run, ..the way we cover in the secondary, ..and with a beaten up OL especially at the OTs spots ...Yikes !
this could be a non-laughable comedy show with us.
- if we ever get a chance to finally play the damn game.

and anyone lined up over Terrence Steele will likely be named Defensive player of the Week.

not really most sarcasm is heard tone or facial expression's voice inflection , writing has zero tone unless uses of emoticons or some type of action parentheses and some use punctuation ..

good try at your cover up backtracking..:rolleyes:o_O

I just want to be competitive and see 60 minutes of total effort.

We nearly had it Thanksgiving until the ending.

Surely the guys will learn it's a 60 minute game.

We have had way to many guys playing who never had to do that before.

They are learning now.

We were in trouble a long time ago. Don't even know why anyone would expect a win here. We wouldn't beat their second string team.

Exactly this... Pittsburgh (and the entire AFC North except Bengals) are overrated. That's not to say they aren't "good" teams, but they definitely aren't teams to be afraid of. If you look at their schedules, they got most of their wins playing lousy teams like Jaguars, Broncos, Texans, each other, and well... the NFC East. Unfortunately that means we will still lose, but not because they are so great -- it's only because we suck that bad right now.

We are one game out of first and have an easy schedule. You don’t believe in Andy Dalton, the offensive line, Zeke Elliott and the defense to win three more games? You are not a true Cowboys fan.
Winning the division is the worst thing that could happen. Lose possibly 15 draft spots for what? Bragging rights in winning the worst division possibly ever in the NFL? Another one and done playoff appearance? No thanks, and yes I AM a Cowboy fan! Sometimes you need to look at things objectively and hope for what is really the best outcome for the team.
