This season is a joke anyway. If there was a good season to be down in, this was the one. Hopefully we can have a good off-season, covid can take a backseat, and we can return to normalcy in 2021.

....the Jones need to open the old school book on football 101. Basic fundamentals. Players that can catch, run, tackle, nose for the ball..etc. They mostly get flash in the pan players.

We have a senile owner, a penny-pinching son, a con-man head coach, an aging roster littered with poor contracts, an inability to draft properly on one side of the ball, and an improving division. Where is the hope?
I hope we lose and wrap up that #5 pick in April.

Nice.

There's an asteroid that is projected to hit the Earth in 2029. So there's hope that all things on Earth will die then. That's about all I got for you.

Asteroid Apophis has definitively been ruled out to hit Earth in 2029 and 2036, but the Yarkovsky effect has altered its chances of hitting Earth in 2068 making it a tiny bit more likely.

But that's pretty funny :)

Responding late, but I do. Especially after seeing how well Washington and NYG have played as of late. Philly and Dallas are headed for a dark path...

We all get together like 'The Truman Show' and put Jerry in a pretend world where he's the architect behind a Super Bowl winning team so he'll be happy and otherwise occupied.

Meanwhile, we have him declared mentally incompetent and the team sold from under the Joneses in some kind of eminent domain takeover.

Seems simple to me.

The hope, as always, is in the time proven fact things don't stay the same no matter how much a person tries to convince themselves they will, and athletic competition isn't predetermined. When the team went 4-12 with Romo missing much of the season in 2015, who would have thought the team would go 13-3 after Romo went down in 2016?

But to provide some additional comments…

Jerry has always been a problem - that's not new somehow - and he may actually be a better Jerry because he listens more to others.

The Cowboys spent more on free agents than usual this offseason, so I don't know about the timing of your penny pinching comment. Even so, some degree of frugality is a good thing to keep the team from being constantly handcuffed by the salary cap like they were for many years. The challenge is to find balance.

What are you talking about with the "con man" comment? McCarthy hasn't been as good as hoped, but that doesn't make him a con man. In any case, let's see if things improve with an actual full training camp and a preseason.

As for an improving division .. is that what every team having a losing record indicates?

Finally, if you are truly ready to give up all hope for next year in early December this year, why would you watch? My guess is you aren't as convinced there is no hope as you pretend.

Jerry Jones mentor was Al Davis, so that is an origin of reference.

The Dark Times will continue until the Cowboys start fixing that defense. How many years do we have to deal with this?

I'm telling you guys it's going to get worse. McCarthy's inability to instill even a hint of his culture into this team is a terrible omen. Meanwhile, Rivera has the Skins flying around, having fun after years of Danny Boys toxic culture. Same thing w/ the Giants, Joe Judge has successfully instilled his blue-collar approach into the team despite numerous injuries. We already know the Eagles will always find a way to have an aggressive offseason and reload. We are in deep crap.
