Well if it’s not the players, it’s the coaching. Gotta be one or the other. Can’t expect to go into 2021 with the same team with different results.
cant be the talent evaluators....bringing in Worley, Poe, Never having an NFL safety, LVE having a torqued neck worse than Frankenstein, Lee/Crawford a year older, E Griffen, etc., etc.

Not that coaching is even mediocre, but my god is this defense slow and timid to hit

There's ZERO excuses for any NFL defense to be as bad as the Cowboys against the run. Ten, 20, and 30 yard gaps open in this defense on a regular basis. Only the Steelers didn't run well against Dallas.

That could mean a lot of things: the scheme is fundamentally broken; the players are bad, the players aren't disciplined and/or doing their jobs, or the coaches simply aren't teaching them well enough.

I have a feeling it's a little bit of "all of the above".

getting real means accountability. makes little sense to talk about how poorly someone is doing their job, be it players or coaches. if that's what you think and you're the boss, fire their butts. easy as that. giving second chances is just giving more opportunities for the inept to screw it up again.

Yes he did. Nolan's job is in serious trouble.
the fact he is still here suggests it is not. what are we waiting for. another reason i've always said coaches are the key, gm's are but bean counters. their job is to control the cap. stephen does well at controlling the cap. talent evaluation is clearly not his forte.

They will definitely fire Nolan for this. They should 100%. But the problem also remains that guys like Jaylon and Woods are trash and that's their fault for drafting and signing these players instead of other, better ones in either the draft or free agency.

They have completely bungled free agency time and time again and undervalued important positions like DT and S in the draft.

No point in McCarthy or the FO throwing Nolan under the bus with 4 games left and a 3-9 record. We will see what they really think some time early in the off-season, I reckon. And of course S. Jones is in CYA mode -- like 95% of coaches and club executives throughout the league.

Better find some players.

Very rarely have we seen coaches fired in-season by the Jones family. If they decide to make a change, it will occur after the season is over.

greg williams was just shown the door. he's a far superior dc to nolan. the time to fire someone is the moment you recognize they are not performing up to standards. that time has long since passed for nolan. firings should have two effects. first is getting rid of a weakness. second is sending a message to others.

We need more talent on defense. The defense was terrible last year, you make a few minor changes and magically expect it to get better? I also never understood bringing an offensive minded HC (who isn't even calling plays). The offense hasn't been the main issue on this team for awhile now. But year after year we get ran all over, passed all over, and continue to be near the bottom of the NFL in turnovers. If we aren't going QB with the first pick we need to trade down and just get as much defensive talent as possible (please please please draft a Safety high).

they need to do so now. allowing the inept to remain sends a terrible message to the team. there are circumstances where kindness is a virtue. but not in the field of employment.
