The Cowboys Team in the Dak Era has never had much of an issue scoring points and being productive. Outside of maybe that 1 season where Dez was cut and they decided a WR by committee could work.

The Defense and Special Teams has killed this team for many years. It made absolute no sense to hire an offensive minded HC, one who didn't change the offense and doesn't even call the plays. Scary thing is, Jason Garrett is looking like the better HC. At least his coached teams were competitive.

How to fix this mess and get the right coaches in place? There is no chance Jerry is going to eat MM's contract which he signed for 30 million, but he can force him to make changes within his staff. That's what will probably be the best coarse of action at this point in time. Perhaps, makes him the OC and let him coach for his job in 2021. Another bad season, he won't survive.

I think that was plan A to stay with Garrett and to get a new defensive coordinator. Then the McCarthy interview happened.

How would that have made any difference? Is he going to magically make talent appear out of thin air?

It is not to late to hire Eberflus. We could keep Kellen. I would fire MM. I have seen enough.

You get the Golden Star Award!! Glad someone else sees this. You could of easily made Moore OC. Why the Hades do you hire a offensive minded head coach when your offense was one of the best last season. And your defense was one of the worst? We needed riverboat Ron to be head coach. Not Big Mac Mike. Jerry runs this team like a luxury country club. You not in the click you get the slip. Man I wish Jerry Jones was NEVER part of the Dallas Cowboys.

Jerry Jones is 78 years old.

Net worth 8.x Billion USD.

He can and will fire big Mike and his buddies.

he's wasted enough time on them.

looking back, what a terrible mistake.

They should have kept Jason. Jerry has to regret things.

We've given up almost 400 points and the season isn't over, a speed bump would offer more resistance. We couldn't even stop the Browns from flexing us out of primetime. Swiss cheese is laughing at us:(

I think the problem is both. There is a void in overall talent but not ALL of the defensive players can be this bad. LVE was a good player, he is blowing assignments like mad. We know some have always been worthless but still. Even Sean Lee looks lost. If all the students fail a test, sorry it really is the teacher....Nolan has to go.

while I understand schematic changes and adjustments so that could be a part of it but in response to the 2 you name Sean Lee should be coaching and not playing. The only reason he played so much last year is because the other guy you mentioned cant stay on the field.

LVE had one good year and IMO the only reason he looks like a baller is because he plays next to Jaylon who looks lost more often than not and cannot change directions very well. Everyone in secondary not named Diggs or Wilson stinks and they are both OJT but at least they show potential

I think 2 good drafts fixes it and 1 gets you competitive again but I agree with you Nolan is garbage

Frankly, the defense was fine under Marinelli considering the level of talent it had. The problem is that the front office doesn't have a clue how to build a roster.

Defensive minded coach doesn't matter when you don't have talent. D-law might be the only legitimate franchise defensive player they've drafted in the last 10 years.

Schemes and workouts isn't going to turn chicken #%# into chicken salad

The premise of what you're saying is spot on...

Thing is....if Moore goes then Jerry's plan of his next hand picked genius goes away.

They have a true mess on their hands right now.

First....MM was desperate for a job. WHY he was guaranteed FIVE years with a win now team I'll never figure out.

My very biggest concern moving ahead is bringing in all these Nolan types through the draft the next few years then having to can him anyway.

Clearly almost no one on the current teams defense excels in Nolans scheme.

HOW on earth no one saw this is beyond me.
