Agree..

Maybe we could get their #1 pick too? Zach Wilson or Fields (Dak pt.2) & a pick to fix the defense? Yes please.

Sign & trade or what? If so, why would the 9ers do that? If the Cowboys franchise him, there's very little chance they keep him after next year. If the 9ers really want him, they just wait out 2021 and sign Dak then. Honestly, the Cowboys have very little leverage in trying to trade Dak.

Would have to be a sign and trade deal and then the 49ers pick up his contract. We get a 1 and perhaps a 3 and move on. Where there's a will there's a way.

I can almost guarantee Dak will not play another down for the Dallas Cowboys without signing a long term contract. That would be stupid. He gets hurt again then Dak would be considered damaged goods.
true and that why either

1. a deal gets done before the draft or he gets tagged again

2.hs tagged and used the non exclusive tag and seeks trade partner

3. he isnt traded and holds out..

then what hold out forces trade or the deal before the FT deadline..

the war continues whos going to win?

i can tell you thins if he demands even more then last year and dead set on market like as much or more then Watson im lettings him go,trade and get as many high draft picks as you can..they better know this before the daft and have a qb draft plan..under 35mil is my limit if im jerry

daks not a 35-40 mil qb

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones went on 105.3 The Fan on Wednesday and talked about where the team is with a Prescott extension, confirming that nothing has changed. Despite Wentz’s unexpected decline, they’re still all in on Dak.

“Our issues in our negotiations with Dak have been we’re wanting to be more committed in terms of the term,” Jones said via the Dallas Morning News. “We’re not nervous to sign Dak. I think his makeup is all the right things. He’s an amazing man off the field, he’s a great leader in our locker room, a great player and that’s why we’ve wanted to sign him long term. ... When you sign a player long term you’ve got more flexibility in how you work the salary cap with a player who’s gonna eat up a big percentage of your cap when you’re talking about a quarterback.”

Why would you believe anything one bullet deputy Fife would have to say?

Great points. I could see both teams being a option.....

The thing about both the 49ers and Bucs is they both have great defenses and are built to win NOW. I don't see either team trusting a rookie, especially drafting in the 20s. Not to mention, Arian has made no secret about his distrust for rookies. In fact, I'm 100% confident if Brady doesn't return, the Bucs would give Dallas two 1st round picks for Dak in a heartbeat. Dak is everything Arains desperately wanted Winston to be. So for ones saying there wouldn't be a market for Dak have ideal the kind of respect he has in league circles.

Many have exposed your weird science but in this we agree, if Andy Dalton wins us the 2nd overall pick we have to take the QB.

The value can not be passed on.

No. Trade down and acquire more picks. Fix the defense.

Dak gets his entire offense back. All starting 11, + CeeDee, Pollard and Schultz. He knows he has a good thing here

We don't know we get everyone back. We thought collins was gonna play this year, first it was he was out of shape then it became season ending. Something weird happened there. We know without a shadow of a doubt that tyron will be dinged in training camp and then missing games by week 3. Tyrons best bet would to just pull a fredrick and retire. Martin getting dinged up every year now too.

I love dak and would like to keep him, but if we end up with a top 3 pick I don’t think it would be the worst thing to move on from him and draft a replacement then try and fix the defense with the dollars saved and rest of the draft

I mean it’s an option, I could go either way

There not that many good free agents available. Justin Simmons, Matt Judon?

Btw.. I'm never going to be 100% correct. The best of the best that do this for a living aren't even that. So this CATCH17 was wrong about something 1 time so we discredit everything else is an internet standard I can't live up to. I will be wrong.

But i've been right about a lot of QB's.

When Baker Mayfield was all the hype I didn't follow the trend. I posted this.

https://cowboyszone.com/threads/i-dont-get-the-baker-mayfield-pick.402566/

Or when there was a million questions about Herbert I had opinions like this.

https://cowboyszone.com/threads/draft-justin-herbert.452147/

Guys like Josh Allen who everyone hated? Not I.

I'm very decent at evaluating QB's. The NFL as a whole is at best decent at it. They miss all the time.

So the standard I get held to that is perfection is a little ridiculous.

you also liked josh Rosen and he has been a total bust

This is going to fun watching the Dak Haters somehow prove the 49ers could do the same with Andy Dalton:muttley:

What will be fun is watching the people who have confused stats with ability squirm and duck and dodge when #4 goes to a really good team and said team fails.

Not really..

I thought he would be better than he is but my expectations were not high.

There is a lot of people that missed on Josh Rosen.

My belief in him goes as far as thinking he wouldn’t suck and if that’s me liking him and wrong then whatever.

Also, read the part about me being wrong.. People who do this for a living are wrong all the time and they have way more access to coaches and film than I do.

LMAO...you could bring in a young Troy Aikman. Some of you guys are just rowing in sand. As long as Jerry is here. It won't matter who comes in. I sorta hope some who wish this get their wish. Which would be 10 more years of quarterback purgatory. How unfortunately some fans always forget Dallas past:facepalm:
I guess it's because us old guys had 35 years of success and the young guys have just had 25 years of failure.

If they could work out a trade now maybe they can get a 1st round pick for him. But they run the risk of getting nothing for him if they do not sign him to a long term deal. After 2021 if he is not signed the Cowboys will be forced to let him go into the free agent market, like Kirk Cousins.

Then the Cowboys will be forced to find a QB.

However, if they can rebuild the defense, even without Dak, they may be a better team. Right now they are too imbalanced towards the offense.
I doubt they can trade him for a first round pick now until the prognosis on his ankle is clearly known. This is a wait and see negotiation
