Are we upset or happy we did not sign Earl Thomas?

I feel now, as I did then. He wouldn't have made a difference and I am not certain that he was an upgrade. I am sure of his mental state.

I was never in favor of acquiring Earl Thomas, from the start.

I haven't questioned our decision to avoid him, to the slightest degree.

He was decidedly a troubled individual by an awful lot that he had demonstrated.

Judging from the horrific extent of this team's difficulties, his presence wouldn't have helped.

As we now understand things..

And Hoyle's Law that says..

"Everything that could go wrong will go wrong.."

has done so..

Earl Thomas.

Thumbs up?

Thumbs down?

By that I mean..

Should we have signed him and would he have helped?

Or did we dodge a bullet by not signing him and paying $8-10 million for one year?

I am on the fence myself.

I do think he could have slowed the defensive hemmorage..but not sure he could have change any losses back into wins.

And seeing that we would have probably needed to cut some players to make room under the cap..

It's better we never crossed that bridge.

Your thoughts..knowing what you knew then vs. now?

Keep it interesting.

And remember..he is unsigned next year and had a year off now and is as fresh as the new fallen...snow.

Not yellow snow.

Yes..you were saying?

If Brandon Carr couldn't get along with the defensive coaches, I have no idea how Earl Thomas would. I do think we would see a few less breakdowns on the backend but Thomas may have had a blowup and been off the team by midseason.

We can imagine anything here anymore.

You know..

That mental state.

I would rather have a fireball like Thomas..

Instead of Jaylon Smith laughing and joking with the Ravens QB after he just ripped off another 30 yd up the middle untouched.

Hmmm..

At this point, IMHO the more that can happen to push Jerry closer to the edge the better. In that regard, I am disappointed he didn't waste a bunch of his money on a player that would have undoubtedly created some form of distraction and further chaos for this team. I want this thing to end spectacularly bad. You need to hit rock bottom to get Jerry's attention (maybe).

He certainly would have helped in games. Darian Thompson was awful.
But likely would have been a big cancer in the locker room.

Given that this season was over long ago, not signing Thomas
1) Saved cap.
2) Improved draft position.
3) Avoid even more locker room cancer.

Total win not signing him.

I'm glad we didn't sign him because he would have been a progress stopper for our young talented safeties

Happy because if he was on the team we would have for sure 1 more win. We need to insure as many losses as possible

His wife recently divorced him, so this guy is a total loser who would only hurt our team and locker room.

Well, I'm a die hard Texas Longhorn Fan so I am also a fan of Thomas but, I am no longer sure he is OK mentally. I mean, Baltimore, to me, says a lot about him. To me, that organization gets it. Defensively, they value the Safety, they have the right mentality on Defense, they have solid coaching and usually, solid players. If they would cut him loose, then that says something to me. That, together with what you hear out of Seattle and all you hear in the press, I guess I just feel like, where there is smoke.......

Well, you know the rest.

No other teamed signed him and him alone isn’t enough to help this roster, combine that with our injury’s he would have been a huge headache and I wanted him.

we dodged a bullet

Well..

The Ravens of last year and now this year are different beasts.

When they let Flacco go I thought that was an uncertain decision.

Jackson is entertaining but against good teams they struggle.

Reminds me of a certain team we all know.

I am not a ringer for Baltimore.

But I understand. Longhorn fan here also.

We shall see how things go next year. This year helped the stable teams that did not have alot of changes.

We will see how that works for us in 2021.
