I mean they have to say that if they have any intention of trying to get anything for him in a trade.

If I were the Eagles, I would look to trade him and eat the extra $9M for a total of $34M cap hit on 2021 for the QB position. Get it over with. Not sure what they could get in a trade. They might have to give up a pick just to get someone to trade for him.

Not the same...but similar circumstances to what the Cowboys were facing four years ago-
Veteran QB with big contract under-performing (Wentz - very bad play; Romo - mounting injuries)
Incoming rookie SEC QB with impressive collegiate career ---(must acknowledge Hurts' accomplishments at Alabama and Oklahoma far succeed Prescott's at Mississippi State)
Still- despite the rookie contract of Jalen (Dak) - makes no since to keep that albatross contract of Carson (Tony) on the books unless PHL (DAL) gives Wentz (Romo) a legit shot at getting back the starter position.

I was right Hurts would take Eagles QB1 before 2020 season ended - Wentz has not completely recovered from last season injury. He rushed come back due to Eagles drafting Hurts.

I predict the Eagles front office have a injury poison pill clause. Wentz's past is the Eagles off ramp. Wentz will land nicely with the Broncos or Colts.

If I am Wentz....sign with Washington Constables or Dallas (if Dak leaves).

I was just going to say what everyone else said. They don’t have a choice, it’s about money and cap hit.

Did you read the article? They explain the numbers in the article if he were cut or if he were traded. I also looked up Wentz's contract at spotrac. I may have made a mistake since I am not a cap expert. Some of that stuff is confusing. And you have the post June 1st designations splitting the cap hit into two years.

They have to as the extension kicks in next year. Another lesson in plain sight to let Dak walk and not deal with a good Qb crippling this team. Wake up people!!!
