from Spotrac
2022 salary fully guarantees on the 5th league day of 2021 (injury guaranteed now)

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/ezekiel-elliott-18952/

Looks like the only possible out is a post 6/1 trade:
2021 Dead Cap: $4,100,000
2022 Dead Cap: $10,800,000
2021 Cap Savings: $9,600,000

The only other out could be a suspension which would nullify the guaranteed money (if it is in the contract and JJ would use it). A suspension is always a possibility with the way he has acted off the field in the past.

If not for a 26 yard run yesterday, Zeke would have had 11 carries for 22 yards.

His decline is very concerning.

Should he be released in the offseason?

100%. Only problem is the dead money. I guarantee you that Zeke will be outta here the offseason that the hit is manageable.

I guess I'm a minority but Zeke decline has more to do MM and scheme than talent. His numbers don't surprise me at all.......if you look back at MM tenure with the Packers, it's not hard to see RBs are not heavily involved in his scheme. Hell, remember the first presser he only promised Zeke X number of TOUCHES, not carries. So yea, Zeke is way overvalued in this offense but I don't see any way he's NOT back 2021.
:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Scheme and MM? Now that was funny. Thanks for that nice laugh.

Pretty sure you will find a strong correlation between poor RB performance and 3rd string offensive lines....

And good with the best offensive line... Aka he isn't that good.

Possibly at the end of next season, but not this one. It's a cap thing.

$35 million dead cap hit. Who else are you prepared to release, or not sign, with 20% of your cap flushed?

He should be asked to take a pay cut.

Zeke is quickly becoming a below average RB
His WR's can't block. His TE's can't block. And his offensive line is not playing up to par. But yeah it's all on Zeke.

In 2016 he had some pretty good blocking from the TE and WR positions. I don't like Zeke but it's not all on him.

I still think biggest issue with run game is the OC and his style of offense. The line is basically 2nd and 3rd teamers. Moore should have lit the Bengals up in the running game but neither back good do anything. Zeke does look like he needs to do more quick twitch exercises in off season.
Or put down the bong.

Too expensive to get rid of.
He's not worth the money, but the cap says no

Did I type something that made you comprehend I said it was all on Zeke?

Offensive line hasn't been that bad despite all the injuries.

Plus explain to me why a RB who is paid top money at his position needs a top 5 line to be successful.
The offensive line definitely isn’t as good as it has been in the past, but you are right, it also hasn’t been as bad as people want to make it out to be in their quest to defend Zeke. It’s like they can’t see multiple things occurring at the same time. The offensive line AND Zeke aren’t as good as they have been in the past.

Reminds me of Dez fanboys who couldn’t see Dez’s skills declining because they only wanted to blame the QB.

Surely there’s got to be something in between third stringers and a top 5 line, idk maybe league average?

I would give him one more year. Put a ton of pressure on him. Get him to be in shape. Work on his speed. Stop getting high and playing video games. Tell him the coaches are going to work his arse into shape. 1 more chance.
