Will Jerry, after today's game, be rethinking Dalton's future with the cowboys?
Dalton might not be starter material but he might be a helluva backup for us, mateys.
I expect the team always thought he would be a hell of a backup, and they would love him in that capacity longer than one year, so I don't think this game changed anything in that regard. I just think Dalton wanted the one year deal so he could explore his options next year.

good to have dalton as a backup....backups should be able to come in and win a game plus one or two more if the starter is out for a month...if the starter is out for longer than that its not usually fair to hold the backup to the same standard (they are a backup for a reason)...

dalton fits the bill perfect, good for a game or two, not great if you have to play him for extended time.

Dalton had all day to throw and have the help of incredible field position on all the turnovers. The guy is nothing more than a bus driver at best. I thought the other QB played better actually.

..Dalton stays, if the price is right.

I think Dalton likes the Dallas area.

but he can still play QB, and some team could offer him insane $$$ on a one/two year deal.

his wife will kill him if he turns it down.

Please, by the end of the season he will be our permanent starter. Unless we draft a QB 1st round.

Dak is old news and won't be coming back. Good riddance.
:omg: yo,,,W.T.F. ? There BROUGHAM'S? Yer'all like a RANDOLPH SCOTT Tall in the saddle range rider, shooting every horse dead that comes up lame,,,eh?o_O

to all the constant hating on Dalton, judge him a a Backup, not a starter and hes been more then solid, its expected , if he has a decent amount of time and decent run game he can drive the bus well. not just cinci he went 9-11 111 in his relief 2 series to get the NYG game, played well in other games he beat MN and wasn't doing bad in WFT, add in some dropped Tds and passes , those fumbles in the AZ game, playing from 3 scores down, the games he had any support , hes been solid..the dude had a concussion, covid, and at times no OL, no run game, and bad defense..

look around theres 16`20 starters every week that put up very similar numbers, not backups STARTERS!

those criticizing him are upset at the dak hater crew saying Dalton could take his job so they rip every game.hes not as good as dak but can drive the bus when starters out 2-3 games here and there.

go look at the QB stats weekly and you will find more then half the QB stats look a lot like Daltons..

if you judge him fairly, hes a good backup, period..

id be ok with him coming back next year as backup,

Dalton is a decent backup, but to me he's about half a Dak, if that.

Dalton would be fine in a game or two, but for a long term replacement - no. I want better results.

Yeah, as long as we play Cinn every week. ; )
And a one legged backup QB that they kept sending out there. I think I read CIN's HC's lips when he yelled at Brandon Allen "hell boy, you still got one good leg"! Then he muttered under his breath "I ain't losin' that bigun from Oregon, I'll wheel a cadaver out there".

how a bit better players in front of him he had the worst start of those first two games with martin missing 2 of those games and the replacements couldn't block and he got concussed his first in az was the 2 fumble ee game, followed by another, he had dropped tds a ricochet int by lamb, bad Ol bad defense etc raven game even lambs drop of the hail mary and Lamb getting mugged would have been WO TD most likely no call..bad call on Cwill for hold that didnt happen..i see lots of circumstances that caused those poor games not Dalton..

when things calmed down he actually played the rest of the games solid as related to backup..

sorry but fans get super forgetful on the circumstances in how those games got away from the DC dude to injuries', mistakes, and bad play calls. Ie short fields a plenty..

truly hes played solid when he had resemblance of support around him..

Na, that's not my point or how I see it. This team isn't going anywhere, but I find it much more entertaining to see DiNucci or Gilbert playing than I do Dalton. I'm just not a fan of the hype. For a long time Veteran, he's pretty awful. So, I refuse to prop him up like "he's not that bad." Yes he is. He should be playing much better for being a franchise QB for how many years? For every excuse you made for Dalton, I can illustrate the absolute wide open WR/TE/RB he completely missed. Or, how long he holds onto the ball. Or, that he's a statue in the pocket. Dalton is not solid. And his statistic show he's not.

Dalton torched the only team he has ever known until coming to the Cowboys and they are one of the rare teams below the Cowboys. He shouldn't get credit for doing what he is supposed to do. If he wants to impress, beat the teams ahead of us.
