lol ok. You keep thinking that way.

I’ll keep thinking it’s dumb.

You do not, in fact, get to dictate who are and are not real fans.
Um....Yes I can. It might be dumb to you. But.
I bet you do it all the time.

Their are levels of fandom and you have the discernment...and willingness I guess...to judge it.

You don't have to like it. You don't have to agree. You can certainly think it's dumb. But...Imma do it anyway.

Telling your team to tank for a daydream? I think that is dumb. So we're even.

whether that is accurate or not will only be decided after we give him the ability to build the team through a few drafts....

expecting him to win with Garrett’s soft team and the most major injuries I’ve seen in some time to this team is unrealistic
Garrett was winning more games with “soft” teams, so I really don’t except that as an excuse as much as I accept injuries as being a problem. MM has made some horrific coaching decisions in many situations that rivals and exceeds the worst calls that a Garrett made. I will be the first to say that Garrett made plenty of bad calls that lost games. He made more of those bad calls than any coach that has coached the Cowboys. MM is not only matched the frequency of stupid calls, but he is exceeding the number of bad calls that Garrett has made. To top it off, the players are not showing signs of being a well coached team. They are showing horrible fundamentals and little motivation to improve. I know that the assistant coaches plays a big part in teaching and coaching players to play solid fundamental football, but these are MM hand picked assistant coaches and he is ultimately responsible. MM and Nolan said that they were going to adjust their schemes to fit the talents of the players, but I see none of that happening. It seems like they are doing just the opposite, especially on defense.

I think any rational Jets fans are rooting for losses. Because they’re thinking about the future.

As far as Cowboys fans, some fans are comfortable with rooting for a loss if they think it will help the team in the future. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
I think semantics come in to play here. I would think more Jet fans are hoping the Jets lose but I doubt they watch the games and pump their fist in appreciation when the opposing team scores. That to me is "rooting"

If Dak Prescott plays...
If Dak has played, there is no evidence that the results would have been any different. Fans seems to forget that the team was not winning games before he got hurt and the games where he has the outstanding stats didn’t produce winning efforts. His stats did not equate to wins. Dak’s stats probably translated less to winning than any QB that has ever played in Dallas.

i hear you on the injuries but on the defense, the team is playing much more soft than they did under garrett and i dont see it as much a result of MM as it of nolan...granted our defense has been an issue for years but this year is the absolute worst.

Just out of curiosity, what issues have you had with MM that have been as bad if not worse than Garrett? He has been much more agressive and the 4th downs plus a few of the fakes just haven't worked out, but i don't see the ingame managment issues and icing our own kicker that i recall with garrett......ive also been tuning out and not paying as close attention so maybe im missing something that is bothering you more.

I don’t “tell” them anything. I’m just a fan. Just like you. You wanting them to beat the bengals doesn’t impact them.

This fan evaluation has become more and more common with these posters as the season has progressed. For a few of these guys, no fan is worthy of calling themselves real fans if they disagree with anything the Cowboys do or point out poor play by any of these players. This is a terrible team, horrible , pathetic, gutless, etc, but don’t be caught pointing it out or you will be accused of not being a real fan. It doesn’t matter if you have been a fan for 50 years or five months, your fandom will be questioned by some guy in his underwear that is waving pom-poms and screaming we are number one while trailing by 25 points in the 4th quarter.

LOL....too true my friend Too true.

I do admit...I have a very stubborn competitive streak in me. (Did ya notice? :p )

It's not just message boards. It's on the court in basketball. It's changing brake rotors and pads- which I may have never done before ever. It's creating technical reports at work, they have to be PERFECT in order to "win". The idea that losing is winning...is not in my nature. It typically serves me well in life. I do retreat to fight another day but that's not losing.

My words look way more harsh and intense than my actual demeanor. Usually.

You a baller man? I literally from as old as i can remember could not pass up a basketball court without wanting to play or doing so. I played in high school but wasn't good enough for college. My body has paid the toll though as at almost 60 everything thing hurts at times. lower back and knees mostly. I just basically gave it up just as Covid hit.

Totally not true. Way more hyperbole than necessary. Who here...cheers on this team blindly? Who hasn't been dejected, mad, upset...sick of losing. Sick of mediocrity.

No such person exists.

But hey...let's ALL CHEER FOR LOSING YEAH GO TEAM! THAT'S the spirit! Because losing is winning!

What?

You are actually doing the very same thing you ridicule others of doing. Judging how they fan. See how that works?

I have to admit...Imma give you an A for your very detailed description of how fans appear in your imagination. I mean.....kinda....weird. But hey...it's all good. Whatever suits your fancy.

Sometimes extreme examples prove the point.

Imagine if ONE single win/loss yielded a transformational player like Patrick Mahomes. A player that would add many wins over his career and produce multiple Superbowl Championships.

Would you trade one loss for years of benefit?

Yes- it's an extreme example, but if the answer to the question above is yes, then we're only debating shades of grey.

I just don't get it. Why would anyone root for a loss???? Yeah, yeah, higher draft pick, but that's not a guarantee. How can anyone watch their team and hope that they lose????
I catch myself in the moment cheering when they make a play. But I don't get as upset when they screw up I just laugh it off. If we lose o well

but do you truly believe Patrick is doing it by himself? He couldn't beat Brady till he got a defense and he barely did then and he's got some extremely talented players on his side of the ball. Maybe a better ? is do you believe that Patrick would have became Patrick with garret and this Shatty defense I certainly don't. I think besides his unique escapability and his precision the thing that makes KC go is Reid

But I guess to answer your question if 1 loss could bring us Patrick as he is then yes. But Patrick wouldn't have same success here

Yes sir..used to be! I was the same way...star. In fact I got in with a great group of mostly black guys...and they took me in like family. I just stopped in at the court....and we played together for like 10 or 15 years together. I would go to church gyms, school gyms, playgrounds. Good times and it taught me America isn't as racist as some would have us believe. Even when I was the only white guy...or there was only couple black guys...or even a female or two...we didn't care. #loveforthegame.

A few years ago I reinjured my ACL/Meniscus...and well that was that. Now I have arthritis in the hip too. All on the left side so I was indeed right-handed. Using that left foot and hip to make my moves. I miss it more than I could ever say. The world goes away during a basketball game.

I'll be 57 in a couple days. We have a lot in common!

Gee ya think? Nothing I have ever said or cheered of jeered has every effected them. And i even been to a few games. Not totally sure if my cheering impacted them or not. Maybe.

Not sure why you think that's even worth mentioning. But it doesn't change how I fan...and have been for almost 50 years. Certainly the internet isn't gonna change it either.

Yup. I agree with this. We often see promising young QB's being drafted high by horrible teams, getting immediately thrown into the fire, and failing.
