When this team is eliminated from the playoffs sometime in the next 2-3 weeks, realize in the 21st century- aka the last 21 seasons, this team has only made the playoff 7 times. In an era where 12-14 teams have made the playoffs each year, our Cowboys have made the playoffs only 33% of the time.

It’s hard to win playoff games when you aren’t in the playoffs.
And consider this:
  • The Dallas Cowboys are tied with the GB Packers for most all time playoff appearances with 33.
  • But 26 of those 33 appearances happened from 1966-99.
  • That means since the Cowboys first qualified for the playoffs in 1966 through 1999- the last season of the 20th century- they made the playoffs 26 times. Thats 76% of the time. In an era where usually only 8 teams made the playoffs.
  • Since 2000, this team has only made the playoffs 7 times, 33%. Again in an era when 12-14 teams make the playoffs.
When we think of the greatness of this once proud franchise, I hope every Cowboys fan has the perspective of how great we once were and how far we have fallen as a result of one rich fool doing things his way. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Cowboys fans deserve better than this.

I heard Jerry recently say you can’t fire yourself so you have to change yourself. He is not going away.

Maybe he will change himself.

Jerry...................................
Here’s some Jerry perspective: Many NFL draft experts thought the 2016 draft was one of the best of the last 20 years. Zeke, Dak, Jaylon....that draft started with a 13-3 season and #1 seed. Followed by not even making the playoffs 3 of the next 4 years.

Bob, you are not wrong, but simply look at coaching in those two eras...
  • Tom Landry (1960-88)
  • Jimmy Johnson (1989-93)
  • Barry Switzer (1994-97)
  • Chan Gailey (1998-99)
  • Dave Campo (2000-02)
  • Bill Parcells (2003-06)
  • Wade Phillips (2007-10)
  • Jason Garrett (2010-2019)
  • Mike McCarthy (2020-present)

Look, I am totally as aware of the Cowboys' futility as any other fan. I really do. But I'm tired of how everything goes back to "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry." It gets tiresome and circular after a while.

(not attacking the OP, just that this is a fatiguing topic)

Not only will he not change himself, we all need to realize that he doesn’t care about winning as much as we do. If he did, he would not keep playing football big shot. When it comes to building a winner- He literally doesn’t know what he’s doing. The results speak for themselves.

Wow the fact the J Geezy is the second longest tenured coach speaks volumes of Jerry’s lunacy

Dallas will do the same thing they have been doing.

They're going to make every excuses as to why this season was a failure and they will jeopardize another season..

That is how they operate.

1 step forward and 2 steps back.

If we have a good season next year you will need to see 2 failures before he even thinks about moving on from players / head coach.

He also likes to fire everything around the coach and start over before he finally makes the move that needs to be made.

Jerry Jones is just too conservative for this league. He's gone extreme the other way.
